Question Axial SCX10 2 or.....?

I'm new to the modern R/C thing & to Crawlers etc.

My question is: If you hadn't got the SCX10 or 10 2 what would have been your next best pick?

Thanks for your replies

Depends on what your talking about, if your talking about Scale than most any RC4WD Vehicle, if your talking about performance than the closest would probably be the Ascender.

I'm extremely happy with my TF2 to the point that I rarely use my 10ii

Id wait or even pre order that traxxas crawler with summit front and rear locking diffs, two speed, with portal axles stock out of the box. Oh, they even add in a bunch of scale exterior pieces and molded inner fenders, front 550 sized mounted motor, etc. It looks pretty sick.

The new SCX10 II IMO is the way to go, it is by far the best out of the box stock truck ever and the hardened after market parts are following quickly.

The HPI is coming, but I wouldn't be surprised if it is quickly relegated to a discontinued truck. Axial stock will be coming back, the Ascender is still here, and the Traxxas TRX-4 is coming out. HPI has proven that they can't supply replacement parts even after they get vehicles in stock. That company has severe issues and the Venture doesn't have enough positives to make me want to "venture" down that path.

The Ascender and GMade Sawback are my two favorite trucks. The Ascender is every bit as good as the SCX10 II. And the Sawback is the best leaf spring rig out there and it proves flex is overrated.

My mom is 60. She wants to get out and exercise and see some country. She loves all of our pictures we post up on FB. She really shocked me when she said she wanted to go play. Told me as long as it's under 500, she would buy or build a truck. Yep, I said build. She is going to have surgery on her foot later this summer and she wants to have one go tinker on. Wanted a kit to learn how to build. She doesn't do handy. Another shocker. I can't wait to get her out on the trails. My dad loves going out with us. They are divorced and have been for many years, so no connection there.

I thinks it's just because it's a great hobby that is a blast and will get a person outdoors.

Awesome! My dad will be 60 this year. He got me into RC when I was a kid. I had all types of toy grade RCs and then when I was in elementary school he bought me a Tamiya Hornet kit that we built together. Then he got a Frog and we ran together. Great memories. I stayed in the hobby for years and then got out for a little bit. When I got back into crawling I bought him an Axial Dingo and he's been hooked ever since. It's a great way to spend time with your parents out in nature.
