What are the part #s for Traxxas big shocks and the part# for the gold springs. Looks like I have some EBay money I didn't know I had .

If you're talking about Traxxas big bores, the part numbers are 2662 for the 100mm length and 2661 for the 95mm length which is closest to stock length shocks. I don't know which gold springs you are referring to but any Axial 14x70mm springs fit like a glove. Orange front and purple rear is a good place to start. Red front and orange rear if you have a heavy rig.

Traxxas 2661 (93mm) big bores can be run with the stock scx10ii springs. It's a close fit, but they do fit.
I'm running 2661's on the front with the stock springs and 2660 (84mm) in the rear with some HPI 14*60*1.1 springs to suit my pick-up & shorter hoops.

I'm happier with traxxas tried and proven, hard anodising and ti coated shafts....and more subtle aesthetics... but beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all.

Another vote for the Big Bores. I'm so glad I found out about these from Screamer.

I got mine installed wow they work nice. I think the Losi gold springs are a little stiff for the rear. I found a set of 1.04 spring rate going to give them a try. The ring is so much more stable and the flex is incredible. Great upgrade.

Traxxas big bores with losi mini springs or associated rc18t springs are a great combo for many trucks. I run the Rc Surface department at Hobby Town in Rockford. I've been into scale type crAwling for 8 years. I actually build and sell Traxxas big bores built with gold rc18 springs. We sell a ton of them. Locally there called Todd Shocks.

What's the reason for switching from full length springs to Losi mini shocks?

Many MOA crawlers do that they work well, don't stick out , and can be run upside down for weight

They look neat and make for a lot slimmer shock. I've also setup guys with axial 14x70 springs and they work great. Beef tubes makes a few style of spring retainers that all work great and add some weight. Plus they will never fall off.

I'm not a fan of the look.

I just meant that isn't a "benefit" IMO.

I understand the thinness of the smaller spring could benefit some though.

Other benefit is no rubbing on the body of the shock

Are those the stock spring cups? The mini springs look much smaller in diameter. I have 2 sets of these shocks and would like to try that spring setup. I assume the spring rate selection is good. I want to run a 50/50 droop setup.
