Default Shock rebuilds using X-Rings and diaphragms

I know peeps are using Traxxas X-rings 2362 to rebuild (upper red seal = replace) their stock plastic (RTR) and metal-bodied (kit) Scx10 ii shocks, but I read somewhere on here that maybe "Tamiya 50 Durometer X-Rings For Oil Damper 1:10 RC Touring Car #42214" also work. Anybody got experience with these?

Also I saw that YouTube video where the guy adds Team Associated bladders (p/n 21190) to stock shocks and a hole in the cap to make them "buttery smooth" so I ordered a set and we'll see...

Here's the original post as well, which I just Googled and found:

Buttery Smooth! Axial SCX10II Bleeded Shock Mod - A Must Do all SCX10II

After reading that, it seems like the diaphragms from the Traxxas 7062 kit may be a better fit, but first I'll try stretching the AE ones I bought.
