Default axial motor/esc burnout

I recently got myself a axial scx10 ii, i also ordered a battery along with it but I had to order a different one because the current one was out of stock and i didnt want to wait that long so i got a 3s 11.1v 500mah 40c 55.5wh lipo from rc gear shop. I put it in the truck and it ran fine now two days later im about the plug the battery in but the second i thought the connector with the prongs it just goes full throttle and i did have my transmitter on then i tried to figure out what happened so i unplugged the motor cables from the esc and i tried to plug in the battery and the esc just start to puff out some smoke so now i dont know if i should just buy a new aftermarket esc or a smaller battery.

Sounds like a bad ESC. Battery is fine. Although a 500mah battery won't give you much run time.

Could it be the problem of the 500mah battery caused the problem? Or bad ESC? Anyway you should call Axial for warranty?

Same thing happened to my friend's AE5 ESC in his brand new Deadbolt Scx10. Take a picture or video of the smoking ESC alongside the green serial number sticker on the receiver box, and one of your receipt clearly showing the purchase date. Send both to service@axialracing.com along with your name, mailing address, and phone number; they'll make it right.

Axial electronics are garbage. The AE-5 ESC is junk. Get Axial to replace it and put it up for sale. In the meantime replace it with the HobbyWing WP 1080 ESC and don't look back.
