Do these just go on 1 Side to offset the pumpkin? Also where can you get the compatible axles I like this idea

Everything else from a normal multi piece AR44 axle should be compatible (you’ll need a ssd center section) if I’m not mistaken.

I know people are going to buy these to add weight down low, but I don't see them adding much weight at all.

Can you tell us the weight of this aluminum tube set versus the plastic?

For the TK version, it’s only about 20g over their plastic housing, so yes not much in the way of weight. However, if you use this pro44 version on the TK then you can also add brass link mounts and brass chubs that are already available for the scx10ii. I have my fingers crossed that they’ll release these tubes in the HD metal of the original pro44 and diamond tubes which should be about 50g.

I can see using them to add weight...but, they'd also make the axles stronger, don't ya think? Metal tubes into plastic pumpkin should be stronger than plastic tubes into plastic pumpkin. I haven't checked (yet), but, if there's a metal pumpkin, that would be even better, yes?

Anyone stick these under a VS410 Chassis Kit? I might do that.

If I understand correctly, you can get the offset tubes in plastic or Aluminum correct? The aluminum is not the same as the "heavy metal" used in the standard Pro44... Correct? If so, why? I would prefer the metal version to be heavy.

the Trail King versions are offered in aluminum and plastic. these are compatible with standard AR44 components, hence the splined outers. these should also allow you to install the diff on either side, which the Trail King tubes do not

Was already thinking the same thing. I'm considering the VS4-10 chassis, and some petal axles...but gotta figure out how to set it for a 329mm wheelbase.

That's my plan. I recently ordered the SSD Offset front axle and another VFD Transmission. I just need to figure out if I am going to use it on a current VS4-10 chassis build, or do a new one.

As pic show driverside drop. Can you run these on otherside for a passgerside drop for like a yota front axle?

thanks

May want to check out Boldfin’s build thread in the vs4-10 section before you get too far along with those plans. The upper link mount on the ssd axle and the VFD don’t seem to play well together.

Hard to see why not if you can get the front upper link sorted out, but I’m not sure if the shock/link mounts are reversible and could end up being upside down if not.

The VFD needs the upper link mount to be on the opposite side of the offset to work while the SSD offset axles are made to run the upper link on the offset side. It would require a custom axle upper link mount to make the 2 work.

It's almost sounding to me like Vanquish PURPOSELY designed the VFD skid to ONLY use the VS4-10 front axle, thus "forcing" buyers of the VS4-10 chassis & VFD trans inner purchasing their $300 front axle. This reminds me of Traxxas, and their proprietary battery/ESC connectors.

And there's nothing wrong with that.
