Default Stupid, Stupid Power

I just dropped in a Mamba Max Pro with a 6900kv Castle motor, this thing has an ungodly amount of power, which brings me to my point. Do the Vanquish C- Hubs come with the machine screws or do I need to get those separate and if so what kind are you guys using, I have the vanquish knuckles but I tore three screws out of my Cs today thanks to the truly stupid amount of power. Also my lock nuts keep backing off the wheels anyone tried using washers or something to keep this from happening?

Nope. But that does sound awesome lol. I don't think hardware is included. I will let you know when I get home, mine should arrive today.

My guess would be no they aren't included, I believe I used M3 x 6mm screws to hold my Axial alum chubs in.

My did this constantly. Wheels are slopply and worn out. Fixed mine with some nice Vanquish aluminum wheels. Plastic just doesn't hold up to abuse.

I dropped in a mamba max 7700kv and had the same issue. I just replaced the lock nuts with new ones and new aluminum wheels and it never happened again.

Yeah I'll try some new locknuts, I have the CAC EZ-Loc aluminum beadlocks, but I think the stock locknuts aren't very good.

I run the Tekin sc4x 4.5 turn ( 4800 kv). Tremendous amount torque. Top speed maybe 25mph. Not very fast. Was looking at Team trinity's 550 pro4 2.5 turn about 8000 kv. Between your guy's 6900 and 7700 kv. Are you getting good amount of top end without sacrafice low end torque. trying for around 35-40 mph. I run a Tekin RX8 with a protek 2s 5000 65c. Wanting to stick with 2s.

Just running 2s and trying for them top speeds is going tto sacrifice a great amount of low end. Best bet is 3s or 4s and then gear accordingly.

I am a 3s virgin. I have 3s for my Honcho. But have yet to drop it in the wraith. I have replaced everthing south of the chassis. I guess a little nervous about the strength of " hardened steel " gears. Both tranny and diff.

I love the 6900kv, good balance for torque and speed, I actually haven't been able to get it to full speed yet because it pulls so hard and causes the truck to pull the left front tire off the ground at pretty much any speed, but is is a sweet motor and I'm happy I went with that one. I think I just need to tone down the punch control in the ESC and I'll be ok

tried 3s this morning. Sheared the front cup of the XVD's. before it broke though, was smiling from ear to ear. Gonna go back to 2s and stock axel until the super 300's arrive.

6900?!

I think the 4000kv motors are about as low on torque as I am willing to go. These faster motors would be fun for some bashing but even my 3###kv was on 3s.

I set mine to the default punch control and the trigger play just above the default and I am able to keep the power to the ground.

Yeah I put two packs through it today, I think I've got it tuned to how I like it, still though every time I grab a handful of throttle it makes me smile. I defiantly have to get some Robinson racing gears, I don't see the stockers lasting to long with this much power. Honestly, the more I play with it I want to get some 17mm hex adapters and some proline bowties or some road rage revo tires on it just to give it a bigger contact patch and widen it a little bit. I know it's suppose to be a rock crawler in a since but I really want to make this thing my own. This is turning out to be a project truck, I just keep thinking, I wonder what will happen if I do this, lol.

dont forget what Harley reccomends, change your spur and pinion to 32p gears. I shredded my stock gears the on the second pack.
