| Jthellfire's On going Wraith project "new wheels vp"
Ok so its been a long time since I've posted anything build wise here. Long story short I was married, am no longer, got out of the rc hobby, and now am back into it. I started off with a stock rtr wraith. added savox servo up front aluminum servo horn strc aluminum c's and knuckles made my own steering links and 4 links with exception to the front lowers. "they were the first thing to break" played around with it for a while. Then I added the venom brushless system. That went away fast. Then I added fxr 3s batteries stock motor 20t axial after burning up a mod 27 "must have had something wrong when i got it" and a losi 550 12t motor. I then decided to go back to the stock motor. Gearing is 87-16. dx3c scx10 shocks I bent one of my dogbones in the front axle so a friend gave me a set of axial universals that I have to replace. I was able to heat up and kinda bend the dogbone back and commenced to put the stock c's and knuckles in the rear with the dogbones and stock axial servo, and aluminum servo horn. I also made my own steering link for the rear. Here are some pics at a fun crawl last weekend and the newest pics of how its sitting right now. "Till more money comes in" There is a ton more I need to do. aluminum c's and knuckles in the rear aswell as axial universals, stronger savox steering servo for the rear. More scale goodies, a passenger, a styrene plate to cover the rear so I can put the scale goodies on. Last but not least I need to finally figure out what motor to go with... This has been my biggest issue this whole build. I know its impossible but being a mechanic NOTHING is impossible. I love to hill climb, crawl, mudbog, and go fast. I know that seems impossible but Its not. I want just a little more than stock speed but still have the strong steady low end for crawling. And not burn up motors left and right. "yes I know how to control the throttle." Anyways. Enjoy. Last edited by jthellfire911; 01-22-2012 at 05:09 PM. |

| Re: Project "Pure White" Thank you! Those wheels are the whole reason I even pained the rig white! haha I love these wheels! I took the rig out today in some snow fun.. well a couple things happened.. I traded some stuff for a set of black chrome axial beadlocks that had panther tires on. Those tires suck in the snow and being wet. "This is pure IMO" I should have ran the tsl swampers instead haha. The waterproofing did awesome, aswell as the rear steer. The only bad thing that mainly made the trip short was that my lipos went fast.. I went through 3400mah worth of battery's in what felt like 40min.. They are 3s lipos. One is 1300mah and the other 2100mah. The cold kills off these things fast. LOL I will post pics in a little while. A couple more things. There is nothing like throwing your rig in the shower and letting the shower clean it for you! haha. I then proceeded to use whats left of my cowrc cleaner and mooslick to relube the bearings and clean out the motor, bearings and coat all the parts that I felt like needing a coating. |

I installed my strc black aluminum c's and knuckles in the rear finally! aswell as finished off my hood mod so it hinges. I wish I would have held out for the black knuckles for the front.. Who knows. Maybe someone local with black strc knuckles would wanna trade for gunmetal ones? haha The rig needs a stronger servo in the rear and most likely a 2nd bec just to be on the save side. One for each servo. right now I have the one bec wired normally powering my receiver and servos. I made up my mind on the motor and speed control. The brxl and 13tcrawlermaster motor will be the setup once I get the money. I think I may run the traxxas 14.8v 21t motor on 4s for the speed side of things when I want to go bash. Maybe the 13t will be all I want. Time will tell. I am having a blast building this rig for sure! One if not the most fun rigs I've build and had! |

| Re: Project "Pure White" See if this vid works. This is the first comp I went to with this rig. It was running on the venom brushless system. This vid was on 3s lipo. |

These vids are of the fun crawl we had jan 1 2012. You can tell which rig is mine being how I had the only wraith with wraith axles and white wheels. LOL I'd like to thank Madscrambler, pinchflat, Lowbudget, and Kaetwo For all the help and advice along the long long long road of rc crawling. |

| Re: Project "Pure White" Ok So I was curious if this would work for what I want. I want to keep power going to my rear steer servo while I use the winch and vice versa. So I was curious if i put a switch pictured above on the white wire and keep the power and ground attached directly to the separate servos that way they stay on and my rear steer stays put while using the winch. I hope what I'm saying makes sense. Please give me your input and help if you can. Thanks. |

I dont think that would work because when you loose single its like turning off your TX, it may jump let or right.

So I did some modding of the stock back of the cage. I didnt like how people were just cutting off the back part and using the aluminum and rod ends to make it look like the cage was slanted down in the back. So this is what I've come up with so far. HMMM... I wounder what was done here? lol I'm not done quite yet. I still have to finish the other side. But the dremel ran out of battery. So I gotta wait. |
