I was gonna suggest the "The Hog", the shock hoops look like tusks on a Razorback.

Maddog Madigan 01-19-2012 07:42 AM

Re: warriorsimi's new southern build

i got most of the welding done on this rig aka "90 proof" i like the other suggestions but this is short and sweet.i need some honest feedback on this most of it is made from looking at a couple of pics from a chassis that is not finished yet so i had to come up with my own design sugestions are welcomed but most likely be on the next build cause i can't hack it up now so please tell me what you think honestly.i know for one that the wheel base is about 1" short but i have no money to change it right now.here's the pics again i need honesty even if it hurts.

warriorsimi 01-19-2012 10:25 PM

Re: warriorsimi's new southern build

the wheelbase will be stock for now till i make some new links another inch should do it. so 14.5"wb i have looked at alot of the southern buggies and them look really long to me for example screaming blue looks like scaled down it looks like 15 " wb.

Ive been looking at building a custom chassis, Would you tell me what tubing that is? Looking at building a fairly large scale electric for the mud runs, as kind of an attraction type thing... That thing is really sweet by the way...

Re: warriorsimi's new southern build

I did send a PM, no reply. And I did not want to see any other people have issues. So I did what I thought was right, not based on my "buddy circle"

it is all 3/16ths solid cold rolled steel tig welded .3 times cheaper than tube twice as heavy but alot stronger .also easier to bend cause it won't kink.

do you know of anything i can read or watch to teach me brazing ? i dont know anyone who does it.

warriorsimi 01-20-2012 12:32 PM

Re: warriorsimi's new southern build

try you tube ,how to braze, i am sure there are a bunch in there,or maybe the library might have something.i just started doing it till i got good at it,i tried mapp gas which alot of guys do good with but i ended up with a oxy aceteline torch kit and tank set and just buy the coated brazing rods by the pound.the main thing is clean metal and adjusting your flame ,you can also buy the kit i also used which is mapp gas and oxygen kit the only thing is you go though oxygen really fast if you use the small bottles.i think i still have that kit somewhere.
