Default Wraith Wrack

I have a DuraTrax Pit stand, that works OK. But I had to put a spacer under it for the wheels to clear and I had to cut part of the plastic away so the links fit. But it is kind of wobbly when I am working on the Wraith, and would not be very stablel to transport the rig to keep the wheels off the ground/floor/seat so they do not flat spot. So I made my own Wraith Wrack so I can work on it, transport it and store it with wheels up

The axles just slip into the U shaped slots between the lower shock mounts and the C-hubs in the front and the Lockouts in the rear, and front wheels can turn from side to side and even with full throttle, and it is very solid for transporting it in my car or motor home. Plus....the tray can hold tools, parts or spare batteries.

That's a sweet set up you have there. Awesome work.
Might have to try to make one soon.

I really like this idea, and the craftsmanship, Crab. My only problem is the springs are not relieved of the Chassis weight. For working on the rig, that's great, but as a shelfer, I'm not sure i'd want to use something like this.

Really though, It looks great.

Spoiled sport Ya just had to go and bust my chops This may not be "ideal" and the end all wrack, but it works for me and for secure transport in vehicles while keeping the wheels from flat spotting, and THAT was my intent.

Nice job. The drawer pulls for handles was a nice touch.

Hey! I wasn't bustin' ya up. I only voiced a concern in it's 100% use. Transportation and tooling, that thing is money. I just wouldn't leave it on there for storage is all. The thing is built great, truly. I want one over my "extra tires car stand"

Ya did good, man.

Is it really that important to store rigs with the suspension hanging? Most pics that I see RC cars are just sitting on a shelf with wheels down, or shelves for guys who have lots of RC's. I am using the Proline memory foam and they get flat spots if it sits on the tires for any length of time. That is mainly why I did this.

As the springs are left compressed, they lose their spring. Just like a Bed Mattress. It's minimal usually but it's worth placing it on it's chassis. ( /Racer )

Yeah what difference does it make to have hanging suspension? Other than keeping springs unloaded and shocks dangling!

OK...I did a little more finish shaping and sanding today then put a nice coat of Deft Oil on it to bring out the colors of the wood.

Don't call me Lazy......Susan

I really kind of liked the way that the DuraTrax stand spun around and thought, hey, I could do that, I ain't lazy. So I went to the hardware store and got me a $6.00 4" lazy susan and a few flat head screws and got to crafting.

Now she spins smooth as glass and is much more stable than the DuraTrax stand is, and it only raised the Wrack up about 1/2 inch.

I made two more final revisions. I used an eye bolt threaded through the stand that can then thread into a small plate on either end of the base which are also threaded. I can lock it down so it does not spin, or just unscrew the eye bolt a few threads and I can lock it down facing the other direction, or just let it spin.

I also got a 12" bungie cord to securely hold the car to the Wrack for transport.

An unexpected Bonus....

Last time out I noticed a ticking noise coming from what sounded the gear box, so I decided to take her apart and see what is up. I found that if I remove the roof and roof rack I can flip it on its lid and it sits nice and snug inside my turn table Wrack. I can spin it to get to either side, front or rear, and lock it in place if I want. This will make repairs, dissassembly and reassembly much easier
