| kdhill's PS Wraith Build
I am getting my new PS wraith today. I am planning on doing something simular to Harely's budget build, so I thought I would keep track of my progress here. Tonight I am going to regear it, have an 87t spur and a 14t and 15t pinion waiting that will go in it tonight. I do have a question though on a BEC, if I am only going to be running 2S lipo packs do I need to install a BEC? I will be running the stock motor and ESC for a while (also have a HH 45T brushed motor) but will eventually upgrade to a BL motor and an MMP esc. Thanks for any input. |

External BEC is to power the steering servo. If you plan on upgrading the servo, you need a BEC. The BEC in the ESC wasn't strong enough to power my Savox sitting on the countertop. |

Regeared the PS to 87t spur and 15t pinion for the stock motor, seem to be about right for crawling and still having decent wheel speed when needed. I have a few pics that will get posted up later. The stock tires do seem to be a bit hard (like everyone says) my buddy had the TSL Swampers and they hooked up a lot better on the rocks we were playing on. But overall for being a stock rig, I was pretty happy with its performance. |

Sounds like a good build coming up! The bec is to power a high power servo regardless on cell input. For stock servo use you probably wont need a bec but once you upgrade id definitely install one. |

I received a few parts to install on the PS this weekend. Crawlspace Da Box, Da Tray and Da Cover, and a set of TSL SX's. Front Tray installed Rear Tray (took some grinding and cutting to fit) And the rear cover (also took some cutting and grinding) Swampers vs the BFG's And back together for tonight. Tomorrow going to try and work up the courage to cut the body to do the hood mod I want... |

Worked up the courage to start the cutting... With the hood open... Closed... Still need to go pick up some magnets to mount to hold it closed. |

Well Christmas was good, looks like I have some upgrades to install this week. I also have the CMS and Panhard kit on order, should be here in the next few days. |

Hood mod looks good, especially with the front tray. Clean and functional. Let us know what differences you notice with the new tires.

Nice work. Another option for hood is use top of a body mount and screw it into frame where hood screwed shut and put 2 holes in then use body clips. Just an option in case.

Looking good...just picked up the 'hinges' from my local hardware store so i can mod my hood as well. I also like the looks of the front tray in there. Do think it will provide any protection from the elements? Maybe more water resistant than waterproof?

Right now the hood is held close by magnets, works pretty well except for the major roll overs some times it will pop open. If it starts to be an issue I will add hood pins. The tray should help offer some water protection since it is a solid tube, have the whole where the wires leave sealed with silicone, so water has to come up over the top. But if water does get in, it has no where to go out...
