| "Tack Hammers" 1.9
With the King of the Goats up at KCRC coming up I thought if I was going to travel up there I would go ahead and build a 1.9 to run in that's class too. Harley started mouthing how we should build a 1.9 after Brian gave us so much crap at the G6. I fought it off till last week and a simple text to Harley turned into,"yah lets build some 1.9's". So here ya go. Tack Hammers is going to match up exactly with "Ball Pein Hammers" the 2.2. I've been winning with this rig and its fast as he'll and handles good. Hoping that that 1.9 will handle like Ball Pein and the only thing I lose is a lil clearance. First thing is the chassis. I grabbed a new one from a member here and cut it up waiting on the DMG Stiffy Kit. It will match ball Peina kit also. Also will have the Scale horsepower that I always have to have. A MMP 3300 I got off Harley. More to come. We will post as I recurve parts. Axles will be awesome!!!!!!! |

See, ya'll getting fancy with the wraith 1.9s. I'm going to have to run you and harley off the course with my Jeep. Got a new bumper all ready for it Actually can't wait to see them on the course and how they handle. You doing the shorter wraith axle mod on yours too? This could be real fun and make me build a 1.9 wraith too...but I could never abandon Shaun and Ed.

Oh yah. Narrowed axles and all. Harley being the more experienced fancy pants with his builds, he's going all out and killin it with the Hammers arms and dual shocks. I'm just running regular 4 link set up exactly like Ball Pein with BogBores. Like I said I'm winning with Ball Pein now hopefully Tack Hammers handles as well. I ordered closed cel foams for Tack tonight and Ball Peins foams are waiting to be put on. Can't wait!!

Well I got Ball Pein all dressed up today! This is "Tack Hammers" big bro! Now that that's done ill work on Tack's axles. Narrowed Ar60's. lets start with casing. What I wanted to do is a budget mod. I don't have a lath so I improvise. A hacksaw, dremmal and the beef tubes that was already in it. I did by brass tubing but that weight down there is nice so I cut my tubes. First make one cut in your housing, then decide how much to take and cut a pretty much chuck out of center of tube. Then stick your cut housing together and measure how much you cut. I went for 3/4" but got a lil less. That's fine just make sure to get it uniform with tubes and axles. If you cut 3/4" here you got to cut it everywhere!!!!! After all my cuts I groove inside of housing three times and put a channel on them long ways with a dremmal. Then I put JB weld inside the tube. When you insert your beef tube twist and it will feel up groove with weld and walla! I don't die the outside because the need tube is drill and threaded for chubs. Woo hoo woo hoo it's time for Christmas. Got a box today from the Death Metal Garage! Tack Hammers Stiffy kit is here along with skids for my narrowed AR60's. I do want to say this Stiffy kit is one of the awesomest upgrade you can do to a Wraith chassis. Now on the other hand the skids is one of the most efficient upgrade for the regular AR 60s! Bad ass!!! Thanks Jerry. (Find Jerry by searching "the DMG") More pics after install! |

After sheet metal I went ahead and logoed him out with decals to match his big brother "Ball Pein"! The only thing I can't live without is a TSS radiator. Ordering it tonight.
