Ae-5with castle BEC help

Need some help with this. I'm trying to run a castle BEC on my wraith. I've installed it according to castles instructions but no dice. When I power in my esc (ae-5) it beeps twice and then flashes red. I unplugged the BEC and plugged the red wire back in to my receiver and it works just fine. Anyone have experience with the ae-5 and a BEC? What am I doing wrong?

What's your battery voltage and what do you have the BECs output set to?

I run a CC BEC's on two AE5's using a Holmes Hobbies harness. It is just plug and play with no other wires to remove.

Re: Ae-5with castle BEC help

I never could figure out the advantage of connecting the BEC according to the diagram that comes with the unit. The Holmes patch cable has it right and that's how I connected mine (although I hardwired it to eliminate all the connectors), This comment is especially poignant..." and shares a dual ground path to both RX and external BEC to prevent floating ground issues."... which is the preferred method I think as I've seen several other schematics that don't have the common ground between the BEC/Servo/receiver.

I hooked up a 10a CC BEC the way the package says to and it works fine with my AE5. Maybe you have the receiver plug flipped backwards???

I found the issue. I used a 3" extension since my receiver is in the back of my rig and it wasn't making proper contact. One of the pins was pushed out. Snugged it up and now it runs perfect. Thanks for the tips though guys! Appreciate all the suggestions and advice.
