I like them shorter, it's a more effective setup. Uses more servo travel for better leverage. Being smaller in size is also good with it being exposed in the front and all.

That said, I use a generic cheapo clamping aluminium horn (probably 5$ for 5 of them off ebay or something, don't remember) with 20 and 24 mm holes.
You can go with better stuff according to your budget, but this thing holds up fine if you're careful with the clamping screws.

Best of the best servo horns that your money can buy. Invested once only.

That's all well and good, but it's likely interfere with the pumpkin on the AR60s (being so low profile).
I like the idea though, very much, for other uses.

I've bent both Axial and Hot Racing horns. The Vanquish servo horns are much beefier. They've been 100% so far.

And they come in 20mm and 24mm.

20 is enough for the full range and more, 24 will only make the servo effectively weaker.

I run the horns pictured above from fleaBay. I judge if there’s enough servo movement to go lock to lock on whatever crawler it’s mounted to in each hole. If 20mm will do it then I mount at the 20mm hole. If it needs 24mm, then there. If your servo is too weak then get a new servo.

I've tried many different brands of "inexpensive" aluminum servo horns with pretty much the same result for all of them. Failure either sooner or later and none have survived. Now I'm using Axial exclusively. Cost more but haven't had to replace one yet since I started using them. Yup, you can bend/break them if you really try but in all probability you'll take out the servo as well. Not saying they are the only ones that are good quality but they are the ones I found that work for me.

Also, from my experience, the inexpensive aluminum horns suffer from use of low quality aluminum and I've seen people strip the splines out of them rather easily. I've never had the splines strip out of an Axial servo horn.

I should mention, I'm usually running servos with somewhere between 300 and 400 oz. / in. torque.

Whether to use the 20mm or 24mm hole is probably something to experiment with to find out what seems to work best for you.
