| Grease pinion gear?
Should you grease the pinion gear and the idler gear that it meshes with? Both manual and axial's step by step seem to show no grease. Grease or no grease? |

Set the gear-mesh right without grease. --> you should be able to run a piece of newspaper between the pinion and the next gear without having the paper ripping into pieces. It should just be deformed according to the gears teeth. Once you´ve done that, you can add some grease. Use steel pinions, they last longer than the aluminum ones supplied with the kit. |

I personally would only recommend ceramic-grease. This is used also on Tamiya transmissions with plastic gears and should not do any harm to the plastic (like lithium based grease could do). P |

Yes. I already toasted a kit pinion.
