Default shock mounting

so trying something new out and wondering if anyone else was trying it. i moved the lower side of my shocks on the rear axle to the outside of the mounts. i figure if it helps out the shafty guys then it should help us too on the side hills and stuff. well ill let everyone know if it helps out or not been crappy weather here lately so not been out in a bit. if anyone else has tried this and it sucks please let me know lol.

Thanks
Brent

I have seen that done... I thought about doing it myself but decided to stop changing things so I could learn my rig without things being different everytime i go out...

ive been running the rears moved outboard of the mounts for a month or two at this point. i do believe that it made a bit of difference in stability but the biggest difference will be made by bringing the width of the rear axle closer to the front. i have another set of hubs on the way and im hoping that the rear will be around .25" narrower while at this point its right around .75" narrower. my front roughly measures 11" and the rear 10.25" with SSZ wheels and 350 hubs

My stock front sliders with the mounts are in a dump somewhere They are very soft plastic, had I used them it would have taken me about 30 seconds to rip a shock out of them.

i am debating also on wether or not to take off the sliders all together and get some delrin ones made up for my rig. but we shall see those stupid sliders always spin on me and do more harm then good.

yeah i cut the shock mounts off of the sliders cuz they would get twisted a little and end up hitting the end of the motor on up travel

i think that they were a really good idea but really poor execution on the design and materials portion IMO. but still lovin the rig cant talk too much shiza about it.

LOL

I was worried i was a dolt for cutting them off.

i thought they were worthless too, but I really know very little in the long run.

So its nice to affirm my assumptions.

I am keeping the front links stock (minus the mounts which i have exacto'ed off)

I am thinkin of replacing the rear lowers w/ either the axial 30* or STNC 30* depending on where i like the bend.

yep...thats how strong they were...i tried using some small side cutters (dikes, wire cutters) and all they would do was make a crease in them...SOFT so out came the dremel and i smoothed out the edges since thats right where the tires are hitting too
