Straight link helps , but extending the servo arm that attatches to the right knuckle helps ALOT , Vanquish sells one and so do a few other companies and vendors on this site . I just hacked up one of my own out of an old aluminum shock tower from a different RC car . Hope this helps , it did on mine .

Running a longer arm on the knuckle at the drag link takes care of this issue.

Are you running a BEC? If so what do you have the voltage set at?

I polished the drag link starting with 600 grit sand paper on a block and ending with 1500 grit, now that thing slides buttery smooth. Make sure to round the edges of the drag link.

Is it a new servo? It could just be tired.

Fairly new hitec. I did have it at 6v. I forgot to bump it to 7.4. I still think it will be an issue. I have the bwd arm and am going to convert to a single link.

There are 3 weak parts to the steering.

Plastic Knuckles should be the first thing to replace. They flex and cause too much counter steer. Here

3 Piece steering needs to be eliminated and replaced with sold single tierod. Here

Front steering link should be replaced and use stronger less flexible rod ends. Such as Traxxas. Here

Once I replaced these 3 things I have tons of power to my steering.

1. ordered axial ones waiting on release
2. ordered from you
3. already swapped to revo ends

Just remember, the RX doesn't like 7.4v, I have heard people frying it with 7.4v, run a second bec to power the servo. I did this to power one of my winches on my scale rig.

Or just run the rx off the esc bec and directly wire the ccbec to the servo.

The only difference between a solid tie rod and the stock 3 piece is strength and clearance, Stock works great if it holds up.

That's how I did it. I also want the one piece tie rid because the stock steering is so sloppy.

you'll see an improvement in the "slop" when you get rid of the stock three piece setup. You'll also lose some of the steering "lock-up" that happens at full throw.

The axial knuckles are still going to have the same problem because the short arm on the servo side at the knuckle. But longer arms dont work with the stock wheels
