Thanks, air compressor helps keep my truck clean, sometimes I also use cleaning putty. The Viper chassis is made really well and easy to put together. Now I just need to have some time to go and test it out on the rocks. From what I saw other posted video/pictures this chassis could be very capable. Can't wait for the weekend. |

Looking good! If you have not already done so internally limit the shocks so that they are 4" eye to eye. Also highly recommended is to sand and seal the carbon fiber edges |

Yeah the first thing I did when receiving the kit was to sand the carbon fiber edge and seal with CA glue. When I first put together the Viper and ran a week ago the shocks were a bit longer than 4" and truck feels a bit too high and wants to tip over easy. Now I put on the shorter rod ends and checked shocks are measured at 4" eye to eye. Might get to try it this afternoon. I re-organized the wiring a little bit the other day and now running upper links inside the chassis. |

I don't know much about these chassis' but you'll probably find that moving your upper links to the outside of the chassis will provide more stability.

Part of that may be insane traction rock though. I need to find some slick stuff to test on. | |

The upper links inside the chassis have been working for me. I think next I'll try to put them outside and see if that works even better.

Been several days since last update. The crawling session last Friday beatup the body panels. We tried to crawl over each others crawler. So I made up new panels. This time actually painted them. Also moved the upper links to outside the chassis. Rock crawling is too much fun so I didn't get any pictures of truck on the rock. Mine truck is on the bottom while others crawl over me when I was trying to take pictures. Just mounted panels. Last edited by brownie529; 03-09-2011 at 11:14 PM. |
