| Noob to XR10 shopping list
I use to have a berg and have been out of crawling for a while. I'd like to come back and give the XR10 a try. I have my ESCs, motors, bec, radio, batteries, tires, etc. I just need the kit but I don't want to spend $200 in upgrades. I don't comp but I want a reliable MOA. After searching around this is what I came up with: kit: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXZXU3&P=ML traxxas bushings: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXJK83&P=7 9mm bearings (I can modify the stock case for these): http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...I=L5BBBU03&P=7 Is there a less expensive option for the bearings like from a different manufacturer or is there an 8mm flanged bushing for a reasonable price like the traxxas ones? How's that list? |

I did the 9mm mod with the avid bearings in mine and a buddies crawler and they are both running RC4WD gears and no issues.

I can try the DIY 9mm mod and if it doesn't work then I'm only out $10 and I'll get the VP motor plates. Thanks for the suggestion. Are high clearance arms needed? I've made my own before for the berg that I still have laying around but the xr10 looks like they have more than just one bend to them. |

Do yourself a favor and at least buy the RC4wd gears. You can wait to put them in if you want, but keep them on hand. You will need them and they're not always available.
