Default Concrete's XR

Well the deed is done. I'm pretty happy with my new toy.

Purchased Trugg's rig which he spent some serious time and money setting it up.

XR axles
VP motor plates
VP motor cases
VP steering knuckles
VP lockouts
Hitec 7950 steering servo
HR machined gears in the front
Knuckle Weights
Revo rod ends
Caotic bent links-upper & lower
Ti steering link
Axial XR shocks with Losi gold springs & jeepindoug spring cups
CC BEC
CC Mamba Max Pro 1 cell
Punk Dig
Team Brood 2011 SE 35T motors
BJv4 White chassis
VP SLW wheels

First thing is i know this thing is waaaaaay too wide. I just tossed my wheels with hubs from my losi on (850 rear 725 front). So i'll need some hubs and i will search to see what everyone is running.

Second, i need a real steering link because the one i tossed on is junk.

Third, i need steering servo protection and a way to mount my battery on the front axle.

Lastly, i know the electronics are horrible looking. I got the rig and within an hour had to leave to head out for camping and 1:1 wheeling and wanted to bring this with me, so i just jammed what i had in place.

One question i have is running a single mamba max pro 1cell with external BEC and i noticed no matter if i'm using a 2s or a 4s, as it climbs, the front seems to want to stall while the rear keeps going. Is that just from using one ESC?

Thanks!

So no answers on my question about the front stalling out on me? Is that because of one ESC?

i had stalling issues, but it was with some El Cheapo motors. My broods that i just ran for the first time last Sunday where great with no stalling issues. One questions about the motors, how old are they? Are they new? Or were they used? Just wondering if a rebuild or something might be due. I honestly dont know much about motors, just a thought...

I am running a punk dig.

Good question about the pinions. I feel pretty sure they are the same.

I would check to see what the tooth count is, if there the same just run it and see what you think. If it stalls too much drop it one tooth in the rear and go from there. I tried a few different pinions and ended up with a 14t front and 13t in the rear.

For the steering run a Jato and a Revo rod end with a 4mm or 8/32 set screw joining them togather, and a robotronics servo arm.

I like my VP servo guard.

IMO the battery takes too much of a beating on the front axle, but from what I have seen the Rowdy Racing battery mount is the way to go.

Looks like an awesome rig...have fun with it.

Mine stalled in the front for a couple of reasons...

Cheap motors... and

The front turns so sharp the tires rub stuff and stall the front ...and the u joints take a while to free up which helps cause the stalling when turning sharply.

Stalling= Punk dig.... or ESC setup....

It is just the way it goes....

Also....
If the motors have ireg. in the rotor, and they are not broken it...
This can also have a effect of stalling... or addition of it...

haha, no that was an upgrade i already had. It works perfect! I can put my ammo box of batteries, spare parts, battery charger, Tx and then the rig fits snuggly sideways. Then i can put it in the cruiser and put a strap on it so if i'm wheeling it will stay secured.

for discussion purposes i have a little video i just shot showing the front stall. I tossed a few rocks out back to climb around on. It's a lot more difficult to film with one hand and try to wheel with the other!

try running shorter wire to the front an run one or two teeth bigger on the front motor an it will help a bunch

Pinion mesh out of whack? Listen to some other XR10 videos, none of them sound like yours does.
