Re: My XR10

This is my XR10 I just got done building. I have a Tekin FXR esc, (2) rc4wd 55t motors, Aluminum links upgrade kit, Hitec 7955 tg servo, rc4wd rockdig II, rc4wd 2.2 Outcroppers and JConcepts body. I am running a Spectrum trans and receiver. It crawls nice and has good power. Still working on tweeking this a bit.

Re: My XR10

like the colour, one suggestion tho, get yourself a set of rovers or sedonas, cheap and way better than the ones you have on imop.

Re: My XR10

I know a lot of guys I crawl with use them. I wanted something different and these seem to work pretty well. Thanks for the advice tho.

Re: My XR10

Adding some upgrades to my XR10. Axial heavy duty motor plates and bearings, Crawler Innovations dual foam inserts and motor covers, Axial black shock springs and CKRC front & rear axles with the brass inserts. Added Rc4wd turbo BEC.

Hopefully this will keep my stock gears from breaking and give me a little more articulation and better traction on the rocks.

Pictures of upgrades to follow soon.

Received my axial black springs today along with front and rear axles with brass incerts, heavy duty motor plates and bearings and my bullet weights fro the rims. Just waiting on my crawler innovations foams and motor covers to get here.

Cool, thanks. I didn't know that they sell those already modded.

Re: My XR10

I ordered two new Tekin 45t motors from RPP and lengthened and lowered my suspension on my XR10. Hopefully with all the recent mods it will crawl better and save parts breakage. I will post pics when all back together.

What length were you at originally as compared to the new longer links?

eulerk427 05-07-2012 07:46 PM

Re: My XR10

Almost 11 & 3/4 inches, I removed all the short rod ends and replaced with longer ones. I also moved my shocks out to gain more articulation. I went from 3 1/4 inches belly clearance to 2 5/8 inches. I gave up some clearance but it crawls and sidehills better now.

Re: My XR10

I am curious, does anyone know what laying the shocks down does?

No, what?

Re: My XR10

I think it changes the leverage points on the suspension.

No, that's what your links are for.

Laying down the shocks effectively lowers your spring rate. (softens the suspension)

Thank you, I could never quite figure that out, does that decrease articulation?

eisman 05-08-2012 05:58 AM

Re: My XR10

I don't believe so, because the shock stroke stays the same. To limit articulation, you need to shorten the travel of the shocks.
