Re: newbie to a xr10

Well if the previous owner has gone to all that trouble it's a good bet the gearbox has had some TLC too

Re: newbie to a xr10

i have a set of traxxas big bores with the cap mod with mini cups that i will putting on it and will be putting some vp goodies on it anything i need to tackle first on the upgrades?

Re: newbie to a xr10

This is what I was saying, the obvious upgrades might already have been done i.e. inside the gearbox, upsizing the 8mm bearings, shimming the main gear etc.

Hey a new crawler in TN. If your interested in comping look up ETRC on here. We run comps and gtgs almost all year long. Great bunch of guys.

Good looking truck btw. I would definitely look in the gear boxes to see what you have. If they used the stock grease it has probably liquified and needs replaced anyway.

Any advice or comments is greatly needed. I do not think this rig has any upgrades to the gearbox

You will want to take care of that, bigger bearings and traxxas bushings should help you out. Some rc4wd gears are nice too.

Re: newbie to a xr10

the only thing done to the gearbox is an upgraded pin? D LUX

Sounds like you hooked it up. Congrats on the find. It looks like you'll need to do almost nothing to your new baby. Enjoy!
