pretty self explanatory - which chassis do you guys use? i have just bought some axles from a member on here and am deciding on a chassis.

i really like the look and clearance of the mantis. also liking the bjv4...

also, what motors are you running? which is better, HH or BROOD?

I have had a wide variety of chassis's and by far the T1e sniper is the best so far I have drove. I lean more towards Br00d motors IMO .

I use a BWD thing and Holmes Hobbies motors. Both Brood and HH make great motors and offer all the custom services available. So which ever you choose you will have a great power system.

I run the now discontinued y-town crawlers v4 and I am partial to team brood motors as I like have more options than what hh offers but both are great motors. As for chassis, all the main chassis makers have great chassis, a lot has to do with what you like and what you want to spend

Chaotic switch and broods motors here!!! Can't go wrong with with Holmes or brood. As far as chassis goes its all personnel preference. I tune time and driving that will make ya better!!! If you don't have alot of time to tune pick the more popular chassis as their are alot build threads that will help with tun

The best thing to do is go to a local comp and find out what people in your area or club are running. Then you can get tech and setup advice right there on the spot. Also if you break something and need a part its easier to get when you are running the same stuff as the people you comp with the most!!!
Just my 2 cents!!

Mantis chassis, took some tuning, but it's just right for my style right now
Plus the look is like no other

Don't laugh, but I bought 55t Integy motors about 14 months ago...coz I was a noob and didn't know any better. But I keep them cleaned and serviced and I will run them till they die. At $19 a piece, they have outlasted every other damn part on this rig, coz I've replaced everything else...whether it broke or not.

Put a fair amount of coin in this particular rig, but it remains my favorite

Underground Viper II & Holmes motors. I really like how easy the Viper II is for tuning. Right from the start this chassis crawled SO well for me I'm sold on it.

I personally like the AT-AT chassis from the twisted minds of The Empire. Sidehilling sucks. Actually...pretty much EVERYTHING sucks performance wise but I'm able to wipe out any rebel scum should I encounter em on course.

If there's no chances of running into the rebel alliance...I go with the Chaotic Crawlers SWITCH. Great lines, crazy light & it's purty too...

I have a Mantis and a BJV4. For motors I used to run Holmes Hobbies 45t hand wounds in the Mantis and the BJV4 came with Axial 55t motors. I just upgraded both rigs to 30t Brood Intensity machine wound motors. I REALLY like the increased wheel speed. Now I actually have a chance at recovering from rollovers and the wheel speed can help hop the rig up some tough ledges. I recommend going with 35t or less motors unless you've already tested and found out you want something with more turns.

I really like the Mantis. The BJV4 isn't as much fun to drive. If I was buying a chassis now I'd go with the Chaotic Crawlers Switch, Y-Town Crawlers Secret Agent, or maybe the new carbon fiber BWD Thing. Notice the trend? ;) I'd go with a lightweight chassis.
