Default HH Trail master 540, 27T. To fast?

Im looking to replace my old Novac 55T Rockstars and saw these on Holmes site, just wondering if anyone runs them on 3 Cell or if thats just to much speed?
At 12 bucks each its not much risk but I dont want to destroy my gears or axels.
Thanks for the time and advice.

The 27t is going to be almost double the quickness of your 55t, especially on 3s. You can gear down the 27 and you should be alright. Depends on what you are going to use the motor in.

I was looking at them for my XR10.
I think im running 14 tooth rear pinion and 15 tooth front pinion.
I could just as easy 2 cell as three cell if folks think that would help. Ive got a few 2 cell "comp" batterys but almost never run them as they make my wheel speed super slow with the 55T Novacs.
Thanks again.

35T would be a better choice for the XR10. There's several places to get one in that price range.

The 27t should be fine. I wouldn't suggest a 15t pinion for the front. If you want to stagger ur pinions, do 14t front and 13t rear.

I was running the HH 30t pro flows this season and dropped them(not enough go, for me) for some 13t 500 pullers. Which the 13t crawl (5slot)motors would be like a 26t trail master/torquemaster(3 slot).

You might even find that a 13t pinion front and rear is plenty!

What's ur electronics package look like? Dual esc's or single esc and a punk dig?
What tx?

pinions could be 13-14, just cant remember and have not pulled the axels apart yet.
FXR and punk dig.
Flysky 3C, switch mod, running nanotech 850mah single cell. not hacked (yet).
Chaotic derlin Switch, W Ti links.
Rear axle, VP Trans cover and motor plate, hardened gears, through screw mod.
Front axle VP motor plate.

EDIT-Wheels are VP Bead locks (heavy, lots of rotating weight.)
no knuckle weight.
