Can you run dual axial ae 2 or ae 5? Hi, I am starting to build my Axial XR10 and trying to do it on a budget, I plan to get Tekin FXR's and 35t motors down the track but for now, can I run Dual axial AE-2's or AE-5's, with 2 axial 55t motors, of course, I will need a BEC to run these no problem. I also will be running a Spektrum DX4S to run each independent ESC. Thanks Buddy |
Re: Can you run dual axial ae 2 or ae 5? Yes, you can run 2 AE-2's, but real estate on an XR10 is very limited. IMO, the preferred ESC's would be a pair of Holmes BR Minis. Much smaller and lighter. Cheaper than FXR's as well. You definitely want to use the BEC for your servo and just power up your receiver with one of the AE-2 ESC's. Remove the red wire from the second. |
Re: Can you run dual axial ae 2 or ae 5? Sweet makes sense. |
Re: Can you run dual axial ae 2 or ae 5? If building on a budget find used castle creation sidewinder micro or sports. But if you can afford Holmes Hobbies br-minis spend your money once. To answer your question yes you can run 2 ae2 or 2 ae5 esc's. |
Re: Can you run dual axial ae 2 or ae 5? OK, thanks for the heads up. |
Re: Can you run dual axial ae 2 or ae 5? http://www.tcscrawlers.com/v/vspfile..._setup_4PL.jpg I found this wiring setup, can I use this to wire up my axial AE-2 and 55t Motors, with BEC. |
Re: Can you run dual axial ae 2 or ae 5? You can but not the way I'd wire it. I'd leave 1 red wire from one esc going into receiver, to power the receiver. Remove the bec from battery port using pos and neg wire connecting them directly to positive and negative on servo leaving only the servo signal wire in Servo port. |
Re: Can you run dual axial ae 2 or ae 5? Or forget cutting red wires, get the Holmes bypasshttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...bbef357244.jpg Hang up and Drive |
Re: Can you run dual axial ae 2 or ae 5? Ok, but I only thing that my picture doesn't have are capacitors, if I get Tekin FXR and 35t combo, capacitors come with them, what are they for? do I need them? what do they do? |
Re: Can you run dual axial ae 2 or ae 5? Most ESCs come with cap(s) they act as a filter/stabilizer |
