Default Harley's Yeti XL - Kit Version

The brand new Yeti XL kit him door yesterday! My buddies Howard and John came over to help with the build as well. By the time I got home and got everything organized, it was 7:15 before we were ready to get to work!

Now we decided to broadcast the live build on Google Hangouts while we worked. This is something I do commonly (not always just new builds), where we throw an open invite out and allow anyone who would like to join to come in and discuss along as we work. It is also open for people to just watch live as well.

Here is the archive of that footage.

Part 1, and so it begins.

An intermission was taken while we did a 1 hour Podcast, the RC Car Cast, where it's just a few of us get together bi-weekly to BS about RC.
RC Car Cast - EP 27

Part 2, we finish this beast up!

Last night during the build, Howard was complaining of being hungry...again.

William@RcBros ordered a pizza for delivery from half way across the country for him. And CHEESY BREAD!

By nearly 1AM we did complete the build, and I still can't get used to seeing how big this rig is.

1.5mm, 2.0mm, 2.5mm and 3.0mm for the hex drivers

As for the nuts, we just used typical pliers and supplied 4-ways (2 sizes of them included).

You can add up the times in the videos above and that will tell you. There was 3 of us working, although it was 2 of us most of the time.

For someone who wants a highlight from the build.

Watch this part from 1:51:00 into part 2 of the build!

Any update on this? I would love to hear whether or not the rear sway bar is effective at combating the torque twist in the XL. I never did understand why the 1/10th scale Yeti had a swaybar and yet the much more powerful XL didn't have one.

I'm waiting on my electronics right now. Once I get them in and tested I'll get some running done!

Yes, the body set part number is AX31039. It is currently out of stock though and listed as a late June arrival. It does not include an interior, rear radiator, or number plates though. Those pieces were not included in the Kit version either, as it comes with a spare tire instead.
