Does the new Yeti come in a factory sealed box ?

Hi guys,

For those of you who received their new Yetis.... how was the box packaged ? ... was there plastic wrap over the box ? or was there one of those factory seals placed where the upper box comes off the bottom of the box ?

The reason I ask, is that I bought a Thunder Tiger eMTA about a month ago, and although the vendor at my local hobby shop told me it was a brand new box, there was stuff missing. There was nothing stopping anyone from just lifting the top of the box off and looking in and taking anything in the box. I was missing a wrench for the tires.

So, I"m just wondering how you got your Yeti, so that I know what to expect when my local vendor calls to tell me it's in.

As a Box Aficionado, I'll field this. The box is one piece and opens from either side. There were factory stickers that seal the box to prevent tampering.

That's exactly what I wanted to hear. Armed with that knowledge, I can now decide if I want to buy a new Yeti that the guy may have opened.

Absolutely not. A large hobby shop called Great Hobbies does this, but for some reason another smaller hobby shop opens his new arrivals and puts them on display. So they open the box, pop it on the shelf and at times will even put decals on the body.

Of course, now that I know this, if I find the box has been opened I'll just go elsewhere.

Probably. Customs has to make sure that each box contains the requisite number of smokes, stubby beers and maple syrup before passing it on to the customer.

haha, love it. You're showing your age, using that "stubby" beers thing, that goes wayyyyy back. Man, I miss those bottles !

I will chime in on this.

I get factory sealed inventory in direct from factory often (we are factory distributors on lots of products.)
If the factory has a perfect track record as far as I know (never sent defective, mismarked, poorly packaged ,product, etc..) I can leave the seal intact & receive it in good faith as good, sellable product.
If I have any doubt (99% of factories / shipments we get in) I MUST open the factory seal (as an authorized agent of the factory,) to inspect the product (before we receive & pay for it as good, sellable product.)
I never want a customer to be the one to find a factory mistake or hidden damage.

The seal on one end of my was actually already broken (cut), may have been a customs check or just the fact that it is a media release and was opened for some unknown reason.

Either way, everything seemed to be in there and ready to go.

Come to think of it, so was mine. Probably to make sure the first production run contained everything it was supposed to.

It`s not uncommon for hobby shops to help a customers by taking a part from a box.Also Canada is a secondary market so hobby shops in Canada might have to wait for stuff longer than say U.S.A,Especially if demand is high for a certain products.

Uhh if it's got the three factory seals then that should answer your question that everything has been checked and all of the parts should be in there...unless it's from the Hobby Store, you never know..they could've took a few parts out of it.

I sell them and a lot of times the factory seal is loose,just comes unstuck.

Strange..well I guess they don't come sealed to LHS but every axial that I've bought has been sealed so that's why I thought that all of them are sealed, my bad lol.
