how can you waterproof the sensored pro 4 HD? Plastidip all connectors and ports? I am going to be running the same setup as you, coming in the mail Monday!

I need to waterproof living in Boston :(

I'm gonna use ACF-50 and see how that works. It does the same thing as corrosion x and i already have it.

I have high hopes for this new esc combo because the stock is just not what I'm looking for. I need speed and torque!

Had something of a scare yesterday. Took the rig out to the park and was jumping some ruts and my brother in law wanted to give it a shot. He hit a rut and a saw a huge splash... Ugh oh.

I haven't water proofed the electronics yet, and the truck instantly started cogging. The motor got so hot, the solder melted.

Brought it home, took everything apart, opens the esc and motor... Both soaked. Sprayed everything off with the air can and in the rice they went.

Luckily, I got up this morning and everything worked fine.

Corrosionx was ordered shortly after.

One thing about the light... When I was screwing on the decor bolts, I noticed the holes weren't quite right. The screws didn't want to fit and two bolts snapped. I was barely putting force on these.

Not sure how I can go about getting these out. Any ideas?

I had the exact same issue with mine unfortunately. The only "solution" I got was returning it for an exchange.

After today's short lived driving... A bit disappointed. Seems like they don't sell the link mounts separate for the currie wraith but they do for the scx10?

I bet if you contact VP they will get you a replacement.

What did you hit to do that?

Ouch - gutted for you mate :(

Will the Scout ones fit? Ping Dan W here or Facebook and ask him to see if they're compatible.

Contact VP, they should take care of you. That is a first I have seen a break like that. What the heck did you do?

Just hit a jump and landed on the rear wheels. Came up lame.

Honestly, looking at the design of these links, it's obvious why this one bent. There are two screws at the top and no screw holding at the bottom, creating a hinge point. The other side has the screws top and bottom.

VP's response to my inquiry on the R link mount "We have a $46 truss kit that includes the R Link Mount you can purchase."

I find this highly disappointing.

Is that the $175 axle kit from VP?

Millsous 02-09-2015 04:44 PM

Re: Millsous Yeti Build

It's currently $140, use to be a little more.

That is pretty crappy, thats 1/3 the price of a new axle...

This is one of the more ridiculous things I've heard in a while!

C'mon VP, love your products and your customer service. (to this point anyway) WTF kind of response was that?

Maybe it was a new employee who just didn't learn "the VP way" yet. One can only hope.

Millsous 02-10-2015 08:33 AM

Re: Millsous Yeti Build

I was honestly shocked at the response. I wasn't even expecting them to send me one for free, I just wanted to buy a replacement R link mount. But who in their right mind wants to buy a truss kit to replace one piece?

For a company that relies on word of mouth and customers like us who do truck builds and show off their products for them, that was piss poor customer service.
