Crazed Yeti Just pulled the trigger on a Yeti kit, Wanting something to go fast with, basher. I will post some pics of stuff when it gets to the house. "thumbsup" |
Re: Time for a Crazed Yeti Get ready to cough up a lot of dough to make a Yeti a reliable go fast basher... thrust You will enjoy it tough Have fun and keep us posted Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk |
Time for a Crazed Yeti My Yeti will never be as fast as my Slash4x4 for bashing. My Slash 4x4 will never crawl as good or go through rocks as well as my Yeti. Both beasts in their own way, but solid axle vs IRS, big difference. Both equal fun, both way overdone by me http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...de9f2b8016.jpg Hang up and Drive |
Re: Time for a Crazed Yeti Jumped ahead and put together the wheels and tires, my other axial cars are 1.9 so these are pretty big. I put them together with the one vent hole open. http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/1...e/img_3129.jpg http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/1...e/img_3131.jpg http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/1...e/img_3132.jpg http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/1...e/img_3133.jpg http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/1...e/img_3134.jpg http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/1...e/img_3136.jpg http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/1...e/img_3137.jpg |
Re: Time for a Crazed Yeti Shafts look nice... http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/1...e/img_3165.jpg Found my first issue. There was a spindle loose in the bag, (off the tree), and when I went to put it together it seems someone at axial noticed a spindle had fallen off the tree and put a new one in the bag. Happens to be a duplicate of the one on the tree. Contacted them at the "Contact US" tab on their webpage last Friday, still no response. http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/1...e/img_3166.jpg http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/1...e/img_3167.jpg Oh well, hopefully my LHS will have some. Back on the build. Came with turnbuckles...don't look like the pics. http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/1...e/img_3170.jpg Putting it together without the duplicate spindle http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/1...e/img_3172.jpg http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/1...e/img_3174.jpg I had ordered these before I noticed the kit version comes with bearing steering, oh well, I'll put them in. http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/1...e/img_3176.jpg http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/1...e/img_3177.jpg http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/1...e/img_3178.jpg http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/1...e/img_3179.jpg http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/1...e/img_3180.jpg http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/1...e/img_3182.jpg Steering link seems wimpy http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/1...e/img_3183.jpg Picked up a waterproof servo.. http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/1...e/img_3184.jpg http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/1...e/img_3185.jpg Tossed in a sidewinder V2 that I had sitting here http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/1...e/img_3188.jpg |
Re: Time for a Crazed Yeti I just finished building my kit and noticed that it came with steel turnbuckles and ball bearing steering with steel posts. I thought the kit came with anodized aluminium turnbuckles and plastic bushing steering. Can't complain both things are better than what was advertised to be in the box. |
Re: Time for a Crazed Yeti The ball bearing was also in my kit."thumbsup" but mine came with the alu turnbuckles. they changed to the steal version early this year, which is recommended. cause the alu turnbuckles doesn't last long. i used traxxas then, steal version wasn't out at that time. i saw in the pics you are using the kit foams, be preparred to change them. cause they give zero sidewall support and are way too soft. CI DW Std are the most choosen ones. |
Re: Time for a Crazed Yeti Thanks for the info, ordered the Deuce's Wild Single Stage 2.2 Standard Foam. I took the motor and ESC out of a very ill handling HPI Blitz that I had here, not sure how the motor will do but the ESC should be ok. http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/1...e/img_3190.jpg http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/1...e/img_3195.jpg Transmission time.. http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/1...e/img_3196.jpg http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/1...e/img_3197.jpg http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/1...e/img_3198.jpg Installed.. http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/1...e/img_3199.jpg http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/1...e/img_3200.jpg |
