Default 1/8 scale bodies?

So i have been off in the ascender section for a while, building a 79 f150.
In doing so, i have kinda started taking a liking to the 70s vintage truck stuff.
Like baja, restored 70s trucks turned modern prerunner.

Then it just hit me, literally minutes ago...
Why make a scale crawler into a go fast prerunner, when i already have one!

The answer is so obvious i feel a little... weird? Not realizing?
Anyway...

Yeti trophy truck, vintage. Poohsad even has something even closer to what i want, a 79 ford trophy body on his yeti.

So now im like, ok what else will fit?
Given the wide stance and sprawled out track of the yeti... would 1/8 scale bodies tuck the tires of a yeti tt?
Kyosho mad crusher body? Hmmmm...

I know it would take some fab to fit whatever is close, but it certainly brings up an interesting possibilty, no?

Now if you will excuse me, i have some internet measurements to nerd out over for a while....

Got a link to your thread over there? I'd like to see your ascender.

Sure! Not much progress, its a slooowwwww build. But its got quality over quantity!
Tribute to my Dad's 79 F100 featuring Banzai

As for this yeti vintage prerunner build, i was half asleep when i had this idea lol
But, i still want to see if its possible! Main focus is to find something with wheelbase close to yeti, 14 inch if i read correctly. Find other platforms out there with same wheelbase and find a body based on that, then hope it will get close to tucking wheels inside fenders. I could scratch build some styrene bushwacker style flares if i have to, and would enhance the vintage baja look.
Im not picky on what body, so long as its 70s era pickup that will come close to yeti spec.
Main goal for this is making it as close to the real deal as possible, like a 1:1 any of us could build on weekends in oir own garage, with modern tech on an old rescued truck. Scale scale scale!
Might even pull front drive so its realistically rwd. Going to be cool if i can just find a body!

This wont be easy but im up for the challenge!

Haha! Yes! Thats the spirit!
Forgot the arma outcast is a pretty gnarly looking 70s ford!

Gonna grab some pics off google image to show yall wht kind of trucks are inspiring me...

Much more like this you just google image search vintage prerunner truck.

As you can see, it would be easy to do a body for one of these on a 10th scale crawler chassis like ascender or scx10, but it wouldnt have near the suspension travel or rwd functional layout with indipendant front.
Hmm... strting to feel more like a trophy truck when i put it that way.
But yeah, now that you all know what im going for, i still need to get some specs for wheelbase and width to see what would fit. This is just the thing i needed to convince to keep my yeti.

My TT has actually been parted out. Had to downsize the collection a bit for now.

I have plans in the future to do it again with the Proline Tundra for the Slash. Want to do a more factory looking prerunner (as prerunners usually are).

I may or may not have my Ford Ranger body sitting here...

I do still have the body. I sold the chassis off as a roller.

I definitely used it and it's looking pretty rough. Actually had to cut the rear fenders off. It'll make a good beater-body on my next rig.
