| Crawling in Santa Barbara, CA - Lizard's Mouth
Here's an open invite to anybody who'd like to come out to Santa Barbara for some first-class R/C rock crawling. We've got a site located in the Los Padres National Forest called Lizard's Mouth. It's located at just before the end of the paved road on West Camino Cielo, just off of Highway 154 in the San Marcos Pass overlooking Santa Barbara and Goleta. Google Maps: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=lizard...2&iwloc=A&om=1 It's easy to get to with any vehicle and is a big area with a wide variety of terrain, the majority of which is sandstone slickrock and boulders. There are all sorts of hallucinogenic wind- and water-swept caves, nooks and crannies and it's just a perfect playground for R/C crawling. Plus, the site is situated on top of the Santa Ynez mountain range and overlooks the Pacific Ocean. There is plenty of shade from trees and boulders and the temperatures are usually quite mild year-round (no baking in the desert heat ) You can even talk your significant other into a visit with promises of sightseeing, shopping, wine tasting, fine dining, gambling, whatever... we've pretty much got it all Here's a video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YaRI4pmT9YU Here are some pics from a run we did Saturday: Hope you enjoyed! Come on out!!! http://www.sbcrawlers.com/ is coming soon Steve Last edited by surfimp; 12-31-2007 at 07:58 AM. |
