Re: IFS kit for Wraith Very nice. Will you be putting together an Axial parts list for those of us that don't have a donor exo? Do you know the cost for somebody starting with just a wraith? ~Chip |
Re: IFS kit for Wraith Nice work sir! "thumbsup" |
Re: IFS kit for Wraith I'm wondering, is it cheaper to buy the Exo parts individually or just buy the kit? |
Re: IFS kit for Wraith Great Price too, I need one of these for sure. I just happened to get a new wraith and exo the other day! |

Re: IFS kit for Wraith Very COOL product !! great job BMRC "thumbsup" i'll take two ! Quote:
i personally had to beef up everything in mine to make me happy, had to work great & have good durability !! i replaced these stock EXO parts: hubs - C's - swing arms - locker - upper links - HD steering linkage & drive shafts. that still leaves the stock: EXO case - kingpins - chassis arm mounts - a arm pivot pins - front bumper/trans shim - steering posts & bearings. my thinking was just go ahead & get the HD aftermarket parts now. when i knew i would be replacing them in the future any way. not to say that the stock EXO parts will not work - they will ! just not for long & I didn't like all the flex that was in the stock components - had to go !! both ways will work fine just, one will work better/last longer the than the other buy a EXO kit for 150/200 $$ & have a OK rig ! or the aftermarket HD stuff & a few needed EXO stock parts for 150/200 $$ & have a Rock Stomper rig hope this helps ! i am ready to build another IFS rig "thumbsup" |
Re: IFS kit for Wraith Great execution! Looks like factory! "thumbsup" |
Re: IFS kit for Wraith nice bmrc...post this right after I cut my exo 2 days ago lol...im gonna finish out this build and post a build thread then might buy this kit and do another one or to clean up the one I have now lol |

Re: IFS kit for Wraith Spreadsheet: http://www.virginia4x4.com/bmrc exo ...ist rev A.xlsx this is a work in progress. if anyone is bored at work and wants to beef this up, be my guest!!! |
Re: IFS kit for Wraith Looks good guys.. ! I like the trx idea of using proven parts and the mounting of the winch.. Only problem for me is, I have to find a donor wraith.... just to use this. Ordering now. |
Re: IFS kit for Wraith I think I will take one as well, nice job Blue Monkey! |
Re: IFS kit for Wraith Looks very well thought out. Now address the front axles. The stock exo stuff isn't up to the task. |
Re: IFS kit for Wraith Quote:
the front locker will be the big issue for everyone. as far as i know - there is not a locker being manufactured for the EXO yet !! had to make mine. one of our Rcc Vendor/locker manufacturers need to address this problem "thumbsup" so far the MIP hybrids drive shafts have worked great on mine, didn't even try the stock dog bones ! |
Re: IFS kit for Wraith The locker for the Wraith works in the Exo diff case. (Axial Heavy Duty Differential Locker [AXI30500]) Just have to watch the drive cups because there is no way to put the e-clips on. |
Re: IFS kit for Wraith Nice looking kit guys!! "thumbsup" For the front locker, go old school and fill that diff with JB Weld. That is what I did to my Wrexo conversion. 8) |
Re: IFS kit for Wraith Yup check my build thread.. A vendor with skillz can make the required thru shaft so everyone can take advantage of the mip's. I used 1/4" chromo. A one piece locker with 6mm outputs would be sweet.. |
Re: IFS kit for Wraith all the parts on the spreadsheet would cost $252.05 +shipping maybe. thats not counting the cvd dogbone optional set. |

Re: IFS kit for Wraith Quote:
about the same $$ either way - stock EXO vers some stock/aftermarket parts ?? you can go the EXO kit way & just use the front end off of it, But then U have a half of exo to try to use or sale off afterwards! or take $$ that you would spend for a exo kit, and use it for the needed stock parts & HD aftermarket products & have a killer rig !! "IFS rigs are not cheap to build" ( the RIGHT way !! ) & you can't be too shy about spending $$ if you want a good working & dependable IFS rig !! in my experience so far - with these rigs ! |
Re: IFS kit for Wraith well I can;t see taking parts out to replace with better parts being the same price. I think in the end that way will cost you even more, but I think your right about it beign needed to do it right. you may not NEED to buy everythign on that list either. BMRC had what seams like must be everything, right down to the axial stock screws needed(would never put them on a rig willingly). in my case the exo kit might be the way to go because IF I did it I'd want the exo cage, or a mix of the two. I don;'t have the money to do it right, maybe in a few years if axial doesn't come out with a IFS rig. for now I'll keep trying to get my scx-10 set up the right way. |
How bout an Ifs kit for us scx guys?! |
Re: IFS kit for Wraith "thumbsup""thumbsup"...Very nice!! Let the rebuild begin, after the 14th of Sept that is....bahhhhh ;-) |

Re: IFS kit for Wraith Locking the diff is the easy part. Finding shafts that will withstand big power, locked diff and sticky 2.2 tires is the challenge. |
Re: IFS kit for Wraith I can't get that spreadsheet to open, any suggestions? Says file type not supported.. Edit: had to dL an Excel viewer |
