| Air show time again
When you work 2nd shift the last thing you want is being woke up by the sound of 2 F-18's taking off and climbing verticaly with full afterburners at 10 a.m. when you didn't get home until 4. It sucks living right next to the air base. But the cool part is I don't have to wait in line, I've got my grill handy and the roof is easily accessible. Right now there is an "extra 300" doing pattern over the base. It really is incredible what these guys can do with a plane. The g-forces are extreme to say the least. 5-6 g's are the norm on some maneuvers. A friend and I rented the "Citabria" from the base aero-club and did some very mild aerobatics and it was awsome, 1.5 g's at the top of the loop (when you'd think you would be hanging from the straps) and 4.5 g's on the down leg, which put me at about 950 pounds. I have no idea how these guys can handle the forces, I almost passed out! |

Well looks like I goofed the pics, but it was cool to see that bomber. Almost had to duck on that one.
