I see your point, but the EFF is usually a pretty reliable watchdog on these points. It just pisses me off so much, even the idea of anyone trying to pervert the constitution.
As for the political bullshit comment, I was talking about the Muslim thing-maybe he is a Muslim, but why should that matter? I'm sure there are reasonable Muslims in the world, though I admit I don't know any Muslims at all. My point here is, one of the founding principles of this country is the guarantee of freedom of religion. Beyond that, I've not seen a single piece of evidence to suggest Obama is a Muslim. It appears to me to be a rumor made up to discredit the man, and that is political bullshit. I think it's much better to discredit him with facts

You put that well. My point is, warrantless wiretapping is illegal (see the fourth amendment) the people have the right to sue the government (see first amendment) and laws passed by congress must conform to the constitution (article 6) so I don't see how the patriot act can make that stuff legal. Obama is not living up to his duties as president, he's not keeping his oath of office, not to mention his campaign promises. This is Not OK. I'm not really surprised, but still...

I'm calling and writing my Congresswomen and Senator, petitioning them not to vote for all of these measures that are bankrupting our nation and destroying the principles our country is based upon. I'm writing to my Governor and State legislature and expressing my displeasure w/ their accepting Federal Dollars that will end up causing my taxes to be raised after that money drys up.
