Yes. I can't remember who though. But it was hacked at where the axle tubes come out, and then metal plates made for it. There were some huge outputs (maxx I think?) and the person reported when mated to the axles was geared really low.

Jay/roktoy did it. Not sure if he actually used it, but he made some adapters of some kind to hook axles to the clod trans.

Nope, Jay sold it. There's a guy in Colorado that wheels a rig he calls Shelly that is using a clod axle as a tranny though |

Shelly has been undergoing a major overhaul and I was going to hold off on posting it up here untill I actually had some real progress but someone would like info.... I used just about a full clod axle for this so keep that in mind as it will be a $70+ tranny if you buy all the parts from tower. The axle shafts have to be modded to take a drive shaft and the MAXX sliders are perfect. The carrier bearing in front of the tranny is actually what is left of the C-hubs screwed back to back. I have not had a chance to run it yet as I am waiting on a steering servo but I should have it driving by New Years Eve. | |
