| Watchout for PAYPAL & Ebay -- Hold funds for 21 days
Just came across this and thought I would inform those here who still sell on ebay. Beware, paypal can and will hold your money. https://www.paypal-community.com/t5/...AYS/td-p/14220 Im so sick of ebay and paypal's fees then they sneak this in? Im done selling on ebay. The funny thing is, its now a total buyers market. If your an immoral POS person, you can buy something, receive it, then dispute it to paypal saying you never received it or it was not as described, or whatever. Paypal WILL refund your money as you keep the item. The seller gets a negative feedback while you maintain your positive feedback! Total FUBAR. Just want to add, paypal transactions outside of ebay are not affected by this. |

I don't normally check e-bay, but I did have paypal hold a payment from someone for "review". It made no sense to me, because he was a verified buyer AND why the hell would they review the payment? Only took a day or two though.

| Quote: I noticed you posted there too. Your wrong, the criteria is BS, they do it randomly. The only ones not affected are power sellers. Read paypal's community forum, its quite alive with this. And this is new news, the older post was before they went to random for the holds. Its a giant scam by paypal to collect off the interest on held money. When was the last time you sold something? | |

| Wrong. I have a couple of powerseller IDs on eBay, and both are even "Top Rated Seller" qualified and PayPal holds my money on a regular basis. They'll find any reason to hold your money that they can. Three times now they've withheld funds "supposedly" because the buyer may have been fraudulent even though, in all three cases, they were long term buyers with the same credit card on file with PayPal. It usually takes about a week to ten days for them to "investigate". The 21 day hold thing is a major PITA though. It's just something PayPal does. You either deal with it, or move on. |

Nope. About the only perk you get being a powerseller is access to the PS board on eBay, but even that's turned into a pit lately. There's really not much else to give a rat's ass about.
