Default The real deal

So i was never into 1:1 rock crawling, I was into RC and honestly when i went to the hobby shop once the ax10 was the only thing they had in a kit so i got one. After all this competing etc i have done i finally stumbled on this video (im sure some of you have seen it before). I was just so impressed by the use of front/rear dig, going for the bonus line etc in a 1:1 that i had to post it up so other RC junkies like me could see it.

Now i know where all this stuff we do comes from, lol.

So how do they do the disco and dig in a 1:1? Is there some type of hydraulic disconnect on the t-case/tranny? He looks to be able to switch it pretty smoothly and quickly.

He probably just uses a twin stick t-case and can disengage the front or rear driveshaft. Then he probably holds the tires in place with a line lock or some other brake...

It is the T-case, There are additional gear levers to engage or disengage the drive shafts. Atlas 3. I didn't think he would be able to do that climb, that was SICK!!

it depends on the rig. some can select fwd/4wd/rwd and use line locks or independent brakes for each axle

WOW, I guess I assumed that most folks here knew what real (1.1) crawling was. I only got into R/Cs to get some crawling in with my girl and not have to drive a trailered rig everytime I wanted to get some wheeling in.
I've never heard of rock crawlers refered to as 1.1's either till I started R/C'n it.
