|  Dumb Question about internet/forum slang
So I get the general idea, but what EXACTLY does "35% warn" mean or where did it come from? I googled for it and found a comprehensive list, but the warn thing wasn't on it. I did find out that "WOOT!" comes from "We Own the Other Team". But... shouldn't it be "WPOT!" because in 1337-speak "Owned" is actually "pwned" isn't it? I'm such a cluebie. oh... I also found out we have alot of "pronkers" on this site. |

35% generally means there is something in the post that isnt suitable for viewing at work or around kids, usaully nudity...found that one out the hard way....  ...ctrl+alt+del ....ctrl+alt+det....

I believe it means there's more than 35% of the vile, disgusting human body showing, which may include naked ankles. Fortunately, there's no such limit on violence. Little Johnny can see as much of that as he wants. |

HG is "hobby grade" pronker, no idea The theory behind 35% started (although untrue I believe) is that certain work web networks would block (or make a note of) any page that showed more than 35% flesh tones. The theory being that any page that contained at least 35% flesh tones would be a nudie page. Again, this is just the theory that I learned it as. |
