| UAZ 4x4 Racing - near computer crawling game is excellent
Not sure how many of you are into computer gaming but thought I'd put this out there. Pretty deep and impressive 4x4 game for $30. Very much like Screamer4x4 only tons better. Although, wish I would of seen that #2 is coming out soon, would of bought that instead but I digress. Edit: After more research #2 is out currently but only in Russian, took over a year before English version came out. Lots of very diverse terrain. Physics are very pretty well but not perfect. I don't think game would be fun if physics were 100%. The terrain would have to be much more boring. You do really get a sense of good or bad traction and how tough your vehicle is working over the terrain. Excellent graphics, Chrome Engine is still very nice but hits the frame rate hard too. www.4x4game.ru Changed to Sim mode and wow, this game totally comes alive. Now, this is the way I expected an off road game like this to drive like; definitely more real now. Sense of speed is kinda low depending on what view you use but you'll realistically over shoot turns if you don't watch out. Very touchy to not lock up the brakes which is cool now. Fire roads become crazy cause your vehicle will bounce out of control over bumps if you're not careful. Slides and powering through mud now gets squirrelly. You can buy the game here. It's where I bought mine from. http://www.gogamer.com/UAZ-Racing-4x...VVviewprod.htm Here is a video I made. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UTLzZ...rom=PL&index=3 Very cool trail deformation leaving tracks behind. http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/2...ient034yz5.jpg http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/8...1043425zj6.jpg http://img185.imageshack.us/img185/7...3030518jc9.jpg http://img168.imageshack.us/img168/6...1090346qx1.jpg Last edited by VeryBumpy; 03-27-2009 at 11:42 AM. |

Not sure MP would be that much fun, this game is all about traversing tough terrain.

Yea that looks a lot like Screamer... played that game tons, then I went on to Insane because of all the custom rigs guys were making, pretty much what guys are running on the trails now, I got into making maps for crawling because I had no patients. That game was pretty cool cause we could have up to 8 or 10 guys on a trail run... some of the maps would take hours to get across....

UAZ is a great game if you havent tried it. StarForce can be kinda a pain, but the game is worth the effort. Its fun adding cool crap to your vehicle. Heres the Van i did up. |

That is pretty awesome. Is there a lot of vehicles/mods to choose from?

| I'd say yes. There are quite a few mods/tires you can choose to buy as you earn money in the game. You almost HAVE to buy them or it will be near impossible to negotiate the course well enough to progress.

I'm not terribly optimistic about it turning out as good as the originals but will keep my eyes on it.

so i finally played the russian demo for off road drive , and it was pretty awsome. other than not being able to go off track it was perfect. i also read on their forums that they are going to allow modding the game on pc . built on the unreal engine which is pretty easy to make maps. and the physics in the game felt quite real. things i liked: lockable diffs(front rear and center) hi lo range, tire psi. graphics things i dont like : its a demo..... full game needs better rigs ( but hopefully the modding community will take care of that) Needs a free roam mode demo : http://4x4game.ru/files.php |

Sounds great. Thanks for the info, didn't even know the demo was coming out soon. Got something to test out tonight. Care to post some screenshots for those of us stuck at work? |
