Good thing our comp is by Lake Superior!! As long as the breeze is coming off the lake it should be a beautiful 70*! "thumbsup"

It's been nice and toasty down here in SW AR. Temps for the past few weeks have been above 95 everyday. Usually 99-101 with 50% or so humidity. Heat indices from 105-112.
I am used to it. I work outside and workout 45mins a day. But yeah, I am waiting for some snow again.

Duuuuuuuude 07-15-2011 08:00 PM

Wasn't too bad today. 94* with 66% humidity.

dezfan 07-15-2011 08:16 PM

I think it was somewhere around 1oo, but for someone who HATES winter I didn't mind it. I can't wait to get out of these midwest winters.

MisterFubar 07-16-2011 10:04 PM

It's been kind of nice here this week, only getting up to about 100. Last week was in the 1teens, but at least it was a WET heat.

Local playground temp was reported at 140* on the rubber topped surface.

There's only so far I'm allowed to go when it comes to taking layers of clothes off in public.

CREEPERBOB 07-17-2011 03:57 PM

BJoe 07-17-2011 09:41 PM

Well, it was hot (94*-102* according to my XJ's OHC), but the humidity wasn't all that bad in my book, did most of what little driving I did with the windows down:roll:

jetboat 07-18-2011 09:13 AM

106* heat index today... tomorrow should top 110*. The air is thick enough you have to cut it with a knife to walk to your car.

It hit 99.

The "heat index" hysteria is BS. Sensationalism. "The temperature is so-and-so but it's going to feel like..."

People no longer talk about actual temperatures, but instead focus on the heat index because it's a bigger number and more cause for alarm.

May have to make a Slurpee run today since I'm not working, see how bad it is here today then.

Duuuuuuuude 07-18-2011 03:04 PM

Two words: window tint.

I tinted the west facing window in our bedroom with a double layer of heat and uv reflecting residential window tint. Its noticeably cooler in here now. "thumbsup"

We have a big garage. There are three bedrooms and a bathroom above it. The ceiling is insulated but the garage door was just a basic metal door with no insulation. I got 3 sheets 1" foam insulation with a foil layer and a couple of rolls of 20"x25' Reflectix. The garage is a lot cooler and the upstairs rooms are as well.

We got some curtains that block heat and they keep the south facing rooms (which are also above the garage) cooler as well.

I was just happy to cool the garage. :lmao: I can now work in there all day and be comfortable (78 ) when it's 100 degrees outside.

Heat index can suck my bung hole. It's bullshit. My thermometer tells me what the temperature is, cause that's what it is! No heat index feeling like it's ten degrees warmer, otherwise, it'd be ten degrees warmer!

And right now in my room, it's kinda warm.

scale-bronco 07-21-2011 03:53 PM

Got a high temp of 103, and felt like 110.

Jeepkid 07-21-2011 04:03 PM

120 one day here, I was fried. I love working outside, but holy hell it is hot out.

TattooKenny 07-21-2011 04:08 PM

Ours hit 115 today! But that is normal here for the most part!:ror: It's this 100% humidity that is killing us!!!! I read the other day that so far this year there has been over 900 heat records broken here in the US! Makes you wonder about 2012!
