As much as I loved Nirvana as a teenager I'm really liking Little Roy's reggae/ska Nirvana covers lately.

I wouldn't say better than the original since I am a big DM fan, but definitely on par with it - with a new spin. Failure was an underappreciated band.

Nothing wrong with the Deftones but the lead singer... never could stand to listen to him. I don't care for Shinedown's normal stuff either, but like their version of the song just a little better than Skynyrd's

Anything by "Me First and the Gimme Gimmes", all they do are punk covers of other famous songs. I wouldn't say better than the originals because they cover some really great songs but it's so different that I really like them.

new found glory has a couple good cover albums, the songs aren't necessarily better than the originals but they're really good.
