Haha. Nice. I'd hate to get hit with a tiny little car going over 100 mph.

Not impressed. 1 run in a straight line that ends in a catastrophic failure. That looked like when I bolted a Revolution Insane to a stock Frog. Very fast then..... pow Pizza! 1/5 Scale Lipo Brushless system on a 1/10 custom chassis would push past 200. It all comes down to $$$$$$$. Fast it was. What he did not do. RTR 100mph is what they are crowing about. I did mention custom chassis. Anyone care to sponser a build? I could break 200 in 2 months. You wanna send me $5k & Blow a record out the door?

Looks like he did just fine, things fail, maybe a bad batch or just been use to much and finally gave. And why don't you finance it yourself If you say it's easy? Prove us all wrong then shouldnt be to hard right? Just a big motor and small car? Lol

The big hump would be the 5 speed custom Tranny. Your not going to get there with a pinion & spur. |

$$ is the limiting factor. I said "not impressed" not "thats easy" Just like when the Yankees win a world series. His wheel failed because he pushed it past its physical limits. I work for my $$ so its harder to get than free money from a sponser. If I could make 10k doing it I would. Problem is it would only make a youtube video for kids on the net to go "Awesome" about. Net loss |

| Re: 167 mph Battery RC Ride If only you knew that the whole purpose of a multi speed tranny is so that the range of gears offered can take avantage of a combustion engines power band. All it would do on an electric powerd vehicle is add extra weight, reduce efficiency of the drive train, and make you look like a dumb ass because an electric motor has the capability to produce all of its available torque instantly. This is the exact reason that and electric motor vehicle can seem more powerfull then a gas engine with the same hp becuase the electric motor has more torque available off the line but they will have a simular top speed.

a multispeed tranny is a boat anchor in an electric..to achieve 167mph on what appears to be a 2wd is extremly impressive..here is nic case,s 161mph car..4wd MTV Geek – RC World Speed Record Set At 161.76 MPH! (VIDEO) here is a good vid about nic cases 200mph car..not 200 yet but thats the goal..done 170something, it shows the work involved..check the pinion..lol Last edited by vonclod; 08-30-2012 at 06:32 PM. |

| Re: 167 mph Battery RC Ride Ummmm yea sure you would . They have more time and money in these things than you think. I also do speed runs and Rc drag race . It's not as easy as people think . But feel free to build something and show up at the next speed run and put all the veteran's to shame. And make sure you get vid of you schooling all these guys , that do this shit all year long and in there sleep. Good luck. |

these things take so many different calculations from downforce to rolling resistance, to power to weight ratio. please dostradamas, in your words "1/5 Scale Lipo Brushless system on a 1/10 custom chassis would push past 200." prove that to us, show us just how easy this is

So it's taken 6 years to gain only 30mph to the current record? That right there is enough proof to show its fairly freakin hard and impressive, you say it's not impressive yet I don't see you laying down plans or ways of going higher than the current record. If its not impressive, prove us it's not, do it yourself lol |
