yeah i know it's big, but my sled goes nintey and pulls wheelis. the first atv i ever rode was my gf's yamaha raptor 700. we have some employies who had suzukis and didn't really like them. there are also not really any dealers close to us

I don't believe the 450 has reverse just the 400.
But regardless it would be a good bike.

Honda has used that "R" for years on their bikes...
Pretty sure it designates "Racing"

it doesn't mean racing but it designates a higher performance machine over the years people think it means racing cause of all the racers use the "R" machines.

Well then Mr. Smartypants What DOES it stand for then? You say "it doesn't stand for racing" but fail to say what it DOES stand for. I think your full of crap.

Back on topic though:

Theres no substitute for cubic inches.....I LOVE my Raptor

^I've always understood it as "Race", and X is for cross country.
skidoo, this page is going to have about all you could want to know about them http://powersports.honda.com/atvs/sport/. Even if your sled is that fast, the 450 is alot of quad, for a first quad I think you should be looking at an LTZ400 or TRX400EX, they're both still fairly quick quads, but more user freindly and low maintinence than the 450R. The LTZ is water cooled, which would make me choose it over the EX. No the 450R's don't have reverse, they share the same basic engine/transmission design with a CRF450R. The LTZ can also be made into a very quick machine. Riding a 700 your first time doesn't really mean anything, unless you were wringing the piss out of the thing. 99.9% of people I know are faster on a smaller bike or quad, including me.

That's true, the sport quads I've ridden with are uncapable as hell if you ride much difficult trail.
