| Sand Truck (UPDATED 8/30/06)
Ok so I was going to build a crawler but after seeing my friends Mamba Mini-T I and to make a sand truck. So here is what I got so far Original Kaetwo chassis TLT Axles Dynamite/Losi/Maxx Shocks Stock Pede Trans Bender Link Mounts Revo Push Rods as Lower Links Jato Turnbuckles as uppers So here is what I got in mind for the rest of it Pede Tranny upgrade gears and locked diff Jato drive shafts TLT Diffs semi locked with Bad Horsie Diff Locking Grease http://www.badhorsie.com/products/diff-lock-grease.html Bearings for the axles was thinking Traxxas ones might hold up better in the sand vs the tamiya metal shielded ones Mamba Max 5700 (if you know of any other combos that would be good let me know) The gear ratio I have no idea The shocks I was thinking heavier Losi springs and shock oil And stock pede rims with rings and panther 2.2 sand paddles so that's what i am think so far so if you have an suggestions for me that would be great thanks Last edited by wayfastwhitey440; 08-30-2006 at 12:48 PM. |

Move your top links down to the holes above the bottom links.

I would slam that thing down low. Get the links parallel with the ground. My opinion on the motor is to use the mamba 4600. It is *fairly* tame on 6 cells, but you can always throw 12 cells at it for some insane speed. If you go with the mamba maxx, make sure to program in a lot of current limiting at first so you dont break everything. I am building a rig along the same lines, tlt axles with heavy diff grease, pede or stealth tranny, sw2 chassis. I am using the mamba 4600 maxx in mine. |

Why waste your money on Traxxas Bearings when you can get them for way less from: http://stores.ebay.com/WalawalaStore...Q3amesstQQtZkm |

Update on the sand truck Lowered the suspension like you guys suggested with custom brackets that's the suspension at full droop that's how low it sits with the spring retainers all the way up i tried putting the upper links in the bottom holes but the suspension just does not more right also i cant put the shocks any higher because if i do the servo will hit the brace at full compression i also ordered bad horsie diff locking grease fat rock axle ends panther 2.2 paddles gmade wideners bearing kit for ebay (thanks gulavw69) pede from rims |

looks good. cool that your finally going to do it. i'd put some cut swampdawgs and not paddles though, i mean you won't be able to runanything other than loose sand and dirt/mud with the paddles. something with a big lug though would be good.....original masher, swamp dog, g-hawg. just a thought |

That ride height looks perfect. When you get your electrics in it will compress it a bit more too. Dont worry about the upper links, when you lowered the suspension it fixed the geometry. |
