I have empathy for you.... I just had a ACL reconstruction and meniscus tear repaired less than three weeks ago. I wish I could tell you it's not that bad. :-( It sucks!

Well that'll make three of us.

Chris, I knew you needed it but didn't know you had it done. 3 weeks, huh? I remember those days. My miniscus tear was so big they stiched back together, no weight bearing for 4 weeks.:-(

01XJ, good luck. I've had both knees done, ACL's. The first week really sucks, but it gets better. You'll have lots of time to build.

Hehe, we can start a Handicapped Crawlers Club!

Sheldon, yeah, I had to do it.... I could be walking along fine and hit an uneven spot of the ground and my knee would pop out, sending me to the ground crying like a baby!

They had me non-weight-bearing for two weeks, then progressing to partial weight bearing. I cheated a little and started walking on it after about 4 days. Went back to work 7 days after surgery. I have therapy tomorrow.... probably will get b!tched at.... my physical therapist saw me at lunch yesterday without my crutches or immobilizing brace. My therapists are far too conservative. I want to do everything I can to get my right leg back in shape. I think I'm recovering nicely.... the swelling is not bad, I have 0-125 degrees of flex. I'm going to start hitting the leg press soon.... writing my own rehabilitation protocol.

I have 150* on my good leg, so that's what they're going to expect out of my new knee. They have me doing slow extensions with ankle weights at therapy. Light weights now, 5-7.5 lbs. This injury is really bumming me out.... I was working my legs once a week at the gym before this happened; squats, lunges, leg press, curls/extensions..... haven't been able to do any of that since late September. The muscles on my right leg have really gone away. It'll take me a long time to get back to where I was at.

The surgery experience hasn't been all bad...... the cute little blonde nurse that cared for me after surgery called to see how I was doing yesterday. ;)

man, i feel for ya. reconstructive surgery isn't fun. i had it done to my left ankle about 10 years ago (football injury) and even after all the PT, my ankle still sounds like celery snapping when i walk on it on cold days...

anyway, i hope you have a fast recovery!!
