| Need some help w/ paint.
I want to paint my scaler a dark metallic charcoal grey. I've looked at Pactra and Tamiya and didn't see the color I'm wanting. Maybe I missed it, or maybe color mixing is required. Any help would be appreciated! |

I mix metallic(a) black w/ gray for that color, about 50/50.

Parma's charcoal has a metalic color to it... I have painted that from rattle cans.... very light coat of black with a misting of white behind it and then a light coat of silver. Add black to make it darker or lighter.

It does turn out a little on the dark side.Back it with something lighter and it should be ok. The truck in my avatar is painted with Parma charcoal.PM me if you want better pics for reference. Last edited by 62PYRO; 12-07-2006 at 07:11 PM. | |

I go down to checker auto and get the gray wth metal flake in it. Use there primer and the stuff is way more durable than any hobby paint. I then finish it off with 3 clear coats and polish to make it shine!!! After all that I go scatch it up on the rocks. |

If you go to some craft store like rag shop or ac moore. I dont know what you have by you but they should have just glitter paint it's clear and just glitter flakes I did that first then black and it looks like a sweet metallic.
