| Found A Deal On 1:6 Ranger Body, Then Found A Better One!!
Okay, KBtoys used to sell an Artin 1:6 scale Ford Ranger Stepside hard-plastic RC truck, that was nicely detailed, and there were a couple of nicely built rigs on RCC that used them as a "large scale" rig. I always liked the body, but wasn't interested in spending the $70-$80 that the rig cost from KB just for the body. Fast forward to tonight, and I head to the Dollar General across the street for a couple of last minute items needed for dinner. As I am checking out, I look over and see a stack of Ranger RC truck boxes. They look okay from a distance, but figure they are just crappy toys. As I pass them on my way out, I notice the box says "artin" on it, and I remember that that was the same company that made the Ranger bodies I liked.................but this one was different. It was black instead of blue, and some of the details (grille, glass) looked a little different, maybe updated. I see that they are stamped "$50" on the box, so I am not very interested....................but then see they are on sale for $40, which hell, for $40, I will take one. I come home empty handed, and figure I will go back tomorrow and pick one up. Then I go looking online for a pic of this thing, so I can post it here to show what exact body you can get for $40 from the Dollar General. After searching around, I end up back on kbtoys site, and see they still have the blue one listed for sale...............................for $15!!!!!!!! So, if you like Fords and large scale RC trucks, you can pick up a 1:6 scale Ranger body from Dollar General (this month only) for $40.................or you can order one from kbtoys for $15 (plus $16 shipping, at least to me) http://www.kbtoys.com/genProduct.htm...7/INstock/Y/D/ Either way, good price for the body. Well, KB's sale price of $15 plus the $15 to ship to WV would put it at $2 more than from Kmart. So there isn't really much difference. Though I was unaware Kmart had them.

I had no idea Kmart had them either. From their site, they are $20 plus $8.30 shipping to me.............so yes, they are a little cheaper. If I could edit the title, it would be "Found a deal, then a better one, and yet again, another one!!!" |

My thoughts exactly. Even Ebay and Google couldnt find anything. Guess I need to start looking at other sources! Or find one secondhand...
