Default MIP Drive Shafts because theyre cool

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KY4QGIM...v_ov_lig_dp_it

Do you guys know if these fit the scx10ii? They are for the 12.3 wheel base. I run MIPs in other vehicles and like the added weight / durability, but dont want to purchase if they dont fit.

Ive not used Incision before, but why Universal over CVD? Can you explain to me why Incision is better?

Universals have a Freer range of motion and require less maintenance. Although I don't know if they are rebuildable . CVDs provide a firmer rotation I guess you could say. Good for high speed steering axle applications. But for drive shafts, look under any truck. Universals in the drive shafts. CVDs in front wheel drive car applications.
So for a smoother track at high speed. CVDs, for a rough track at high speed or a crawler application universal joints.
And they just look more realistic

I use the incision drive shafts in my SCX10II, they are great, and also add a lot of weight

Both of them won't work with the kit version, unless you are doing some trimming.Thjey will work flawless with the RTR version.I use MIP's on all my rigs and have no issue with them

RTR yes,
kit no

There's a thread on here about what MIP parts are needed to make shafts that work with the kit trans.

I just want a driveshaft that doesn’t have a logo laser etched on it...

I don’t think SSDs are either. I’m tired of the bellhousing at the joints of MIPs, if you don’t have your axle clocked then they just get stuck on things.

Yeah, I agree, incision is a far superior product. I just didn't want to say it like that and hurt someone's feelingsa

You misunderstood my intent. I'm not saying the incision shafts are a bad product at all. I'm sure they will do just fine. I will stick with my proven time and time again for many years.....MIP's

Lol, I understood you. And was messing with you. People like what they like. Some like Ford, some like Chevy. But, your not even close reply, is what brought about my reply.
I haven't ran the MIPs they are probably a very good product.
I personally run the incision on my crawler, because not only do I demand performance. I also like it to look realistic.
And in 1:1 CVD's are for Honda civics, not trucks.

Have you seen the latest MIP offering UL? This isn't a chevy/ford type of thing. My decision is driven by MIP's long standing durable product. Beefy drivetrain parts is MIP's thing.... I for one will buy from whomever makes the superior product with a track record to back it up. Those incisions have been out for what....a month???

So you are saying that incision doesn't have a proven track record. Lol they are top of the line in crawler parts. And yes I have looked at MIP and you have to really search to find an actual photograph of them. Mostly the just show diagrams and drawings of what they are supposed to look like. Leaves me with the feeling that they are embarrassed to show me the real thing.

I post to help others out when products are being recommended. I never get upset or in my feelings on the board. It's funny that's the angle you are taking.. I know VP/incision products very well. I have given them several thousands of dollars over the years. I also know certain vendors are really good at their craft. Example.... When I am rim shopping I usually turn to Locked Up RC. When I Buy electronics I turn to Holmes Hobbies. When I buy Drive shaft's I turn to SuperShafty and MIP....

Well, I think we are getting off to a wrong start brother, I'm not trying to be argumentative. It's all about enjoying this hobby. But the OP said MIP because they are cool, and will they fit. I replied, incision because they are cooler. They look more realistic, will fit and are a quality part. So I gave him a good solid option to consider for his rig. You dispite your last comment to me haven't even addressed the OP's question or concerns.
When the OP asked why I made that recommendation I explained it to him to the best of my honest ability, the fact that from an engineering perspective they have different applications. And that is why I choose the universal.
I was trying to be helpful. And you came in and gave my comment an eye roll.
But hey it's all good, continue being helpful.
