Default Build Complete: Human

I've been waiting for months for this one to be delivered. Finally showed up on Friday evening.

I can't really take credit for this build, but I did provide the initial specifications and most of the raw materials.

There are still a few bugs to work out, but for a prototype build, it came out well.

Congrats man! I’ve got three now and it’s a handful but enjoy each day. Don’t wish time away because it goes fast enough. I did build a tonka truck into an rc and made a trailer that a bumbo seat will fit on. Then when Ive had enough walking around with them and just want to sit, put them in that and drive them around the house. Start them young!

That’s awesome man, huge congratulations. No kids of my own, but finally had friends who are popping them out. It’s been a great joy to be there & see these little babies grow. I can’t imagine the feeling of your own kid.

Welcome to the sleepless nights and messy house club. It's a fun ride.

I quit racing for good to spend time with my kids. until they get old enough or show interest, maybe ill go back with them and just be a pit boss. my latest was born just this past September. its an awesome feeling being a dad. don't let go of projects either, you will get back to them. they might help you finish them too. congrats.

Ben
That's a good idea.

I should make a self-propelled Radio Flyer wagon so anyone who sees it rolling down the sidewalk will panic because they think it's out of control with a baby on board.

It's a combination of "holy shit it worked", "holy shit I'm exhausted", and "finally I have done something worthwhile".

Also a bit of "I wonder how totally screwed I'm going to be when the bills come in for the c-section and the 5-day hospital stay?"

I'm already looking into ways to reduce the noise level.

Oh yeah, my RC wall is going nowhere for the time being.

Though I admit I haven't RCed in a few weeks now.

My daughter turned 2 months old yesterday. It's crazy how big they get and how much the learn to do so quickly; it won't be long before they are crawling and walking and we will have to build them trailers like @shaneszczerba

CONGRATS!

something in the water around here??
Tyler (our 3rd) was born almost exactly a month earlier. he's a quiet fella, the only "noise reduction" i need is for the rest of the house lol he is a pretty mellow dude.

this your first? and yes C section and 5 days is pricey. ours was C also.

hang in there man! the key here is zen-like patience.

(i also have not touched anything RC related for about 5 weeks)

Figured I'd update this. The hospital bill I was worrying about turned out to be around $1200; fortunately he was born late in the year so we were already close to our annual insurance deductible. (yeah...$1200 shy of the annual deductible counts as "close", because I have a high-deductible insurance plan. [political rant deleted]) People-nugget is almost 8 months old now. Here he is working on his James Dean impression:

Haha, that’s awesome. I don’t have kids myself, but I have a few friends who do & my first experience being around newborns on a regular basis. It’s crazy how fast they seem to grow.

Fast, but excruciatingly slow at the same time. This has been the longest 8.5 months of my life. Weekends don't exist anymore.
