| Samsungs new 219" TV
nick named "The Wall" uses new micro LED technology for a brighter picture, less energy used, and near perfect blacks. and is listed as "above 4k" resolution. a smaller 75" nick named "The Window" will actually be available for purchase, using the same micro LEDs but is rumored to cost in the $15k-20k range. It pretty cool, for sure, but I'm glad I've hit the point in my life where stuff like this doesn't matter to me anymore.

Ditto, plus I'm not sure if we have 1 wall big enough here to hang anything that big without rearranging the furnature in a stupid looking way.

... and imagine seeing 219" and 4k resolution of someones face like Lee Marvin or Nancy Pelosi. Would probably shock me into just not watching tv at all anymore.

TV don't interest me much as i have a problem finding content worth wasting time on, but with a substantial enough lotto win i would go for something like that just for my console,,,,,though i am a PC gamer.

Even though I don't watch any porn of any kind... I'll admit that was my first thought lol. I'm not sure that I could appreciate that degree of technology with the kinds of shows that my wife and I typically watch. I grew up with 3 channels on a small blk & wht set. Eventually upgraded to a color RCA TV sometime in the early-mid 70's. I'm still amazed these days by the definition of our modest 40" Samsung flat-screen. No doubt that something even better would be neat... but not neat enough to justify spending big bucks. I remember the days when people would only consider buying a new refrigerator, TV, etc when their old ones were coughing up smoke or sparks lol! Even then... you'd try your best to limp it along a little longer if you could haha.

Plus what content will actually look decent on such a huge format and what in the world will power it? High end PC's have a hard enough time dealing with 4K and this is "more" so IDK. Neeto! but useless IMHO |

I have an old 46" Samsung that cost roughly $2500 when I bought it, still going strong. Did see this pretty interesting article today, though: https://www.theverge.com/2019/6/20/1...unced-features 55" Fire TV with Dolby Vision 4K for only $449! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07SC4JSGZ..._74adDbZCKRCJC |

| Re: Samsungs new 219" TV Displaying content that was pre-recorded in that resolution doesn't really take much HP. You're thinking about gaming in 4K, which requires real time rendering. And yes, it takes a beast of a PC to game in 4k.

| Re: Samsungs new 219" TV For me, in gaming, I like what I see with higher screen refresh rates and FPS than 4k resolution. Now where 4k does shine for me is reading text on computers, especially in conference rooms presenting and excel sheet, or on stock looking at the stock market.
