In the way of tools and parts I seem to bring more and more every time. Seems like you or somebody you know always needs something you didn't bring.

I bring everything I can fit in the car in the way of spare parts. You will always break the one part you don't have. Badd and I attend all our comps together, we usualy split a card table, and one of those tent thingys you stand under. A cooler with lots of drinks and food for lunch. And its always a good idea to bring some cash in small bills to buy odd and end parts from other people. A camera and a pen are good items to have also, as are a ac converter to run soldering irons or any other electric device you might need. I also bring a marine deep cycle battery with a full charge just incase the comp area is really far from the car so I can charge batteries. Oh yeah, I always bring a full can of whoop *** for everybody. |

I bring extra screws, a driveshaft, and some stuff that could be repairable there. There is no point in bringing a new transmission gear or something because you probably won't have time to replace it during the comp.

I think I could disassemble and reassable a trans in between any run, even if there were only 5-6 people running. I have always built my stuff with maintanace in mind.

I know at the last comp I changed out both servos, a front diff and a rear axle tube at 8:00 before the comp, then I changed out a front esc inside the 30 minute window of repair time, without a soldering iron. Then I won the comp. I also changed a ring gear in my 2.2 before the comp started. You want it bad enough and the parts will fly.

| And that's why I bring it all. I need to just start bringing like one screw, one nut, one knuckle, one wheel hex, one driveshaft, one servo horn, etc... One of everything, not the 100 screws that constantly rattle around and drive me crazy. Or the 10 bags of Tamiya replacement parts. |

| I have a pretty simple rule when packing... If it doesn't fit in this: I don't need it. |

The 1/3 scale Miss Bud hydro I was looking at wouldn't fit. I'd have to tow it on it's own trailer.

| Well, i am sure that most people could. i'm 15, so maybe i dont' work as fast as you guys though. I just think it is better to bring stuff that you would actually break so you can replace that.
